Considering we are already going to have CW off on its own, couldn't we also have events separated as well? That way the people who want to play in the tournament can, and those who don't enjoy it have their normal thing to do. Or even simpler, if you opt in, you only play against others who opt in, as long as you also give them the option to opt out if they choose to throw in the towel.
On one hand you can give the whole not enough players argument, but on the other you could say that running them off to another game (or this forum) isn't any better.

Dude, there is NO issue with this tournament.

The only advice I can give you regarding this ridiculous challenge is get the premium time for one point, and play however much you want for fun. If you want the mech, then prepare to commit 6-12 hours depending on skill and luck.

When you pull into your garage from a day at work only to find some ******** (in-laws) decided to put catboxes in the middle of your garage parking space... that you CAN NOT SEE due to the hood of the car blocking your view of the floor... and run over... and get them stuck under the car... and strew shite all over the place... that you must subsequently jack up to remove...
YEAH. NO WONDER... I'm a little on edge tonight.

3 days premium for 1 point
a Victor 9S(C) (IIRC) plus mechbay for 20 points.
You get a point for winning and surviving a match while killing at least one enemy and getting at least one assist.
That's it. If you aren't a suicidal player, regular play will net you the 3-day premium soon enough. If you want the Victor, you'll need a lot of time and maybe tactics adjustments to get it. Suicidal/fragile mech builds/tactics are discouraged because just winning with a bunch of kills and assists isn't enough... you need to actually stay alive too.
Just bear in mind, if you play too defensively you run the risk of losing the match anyway, so don't cuddle down in a hole and pray your team wins after you nail the first kill.

Evidence that people don't care for something about the tournament:
http://mwomercs.com/...nt-is-terrible/
http://mwomercs.com/...y-friends-away/
http://mwomercs.com/...for-tournament/
http://mwomercs.com/...de-behind-lrms/
http://mwomercs.com/...kend-challenge/ (starting to get complaints)
...etc...
Don't see why we have to force them to play in it if they want to play MWO this weekend.

This isn't a tournament. It is a challenge.

If it were a tournament, then I'd totally be all for separate queues.

That's the problem you can't play like normal because you have at least 8 other people running around playing Mech of Duty.
I'm acutally keeping track of how many arms and legs I blow off, because random joe snuffy wanted to run in front of me, with fingers and toes crossed he gets the KB.
