Can be solo or in teams but...

Assists are worth 1 point. So that is easy enough to get 1 or 12 points if you do it right.

Kills...
Light Mech kill = 2 points
Med Mech kill = 3 points
Heavy Mech kill = 4 points
Assault Mech kill = 5 points

Some mechs and or pilots are great at doing mass damage so those guys should get nice points for 4 or 5 or more kills. But even those guys that go a whole game hitting everything and "maybe" get 1 kill, could still come out of that match with some nice points from the assists alone.

I think a basic point system like this that awards both assists and kills would be fun. But even getting 7,8 or 12 assists lol, would keep you in the running with the guys that are getting 4, 5 or more kills a game.

As for the awards

have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall prize award... (Maybe MC?)

then have maybe a price for the 4 players that kill the most lights, med, heavy and assault mechs? The guy that kills the most lights gets a free champion light mech, the guy that kills the most med mechs gets a free champion med mech... and so on.

And those that place in the top 10 would also get whatever number of C-bills?

This would also STILL award points to players that die, so they dont feel like they went through a battle for nothing. Or have that one awesome game with like 6 kills and 4 assists, just to die at the end and not get any points because you didnt live lol.

example 1)... you get 4 kills and 4 assists

kill 1 light = 2 points
kill 2 light = 2 points
kill 3 med = 3 points
kill 4 assault = 5 points
total 12 point

4 assists = 1 point each for a total of 4 points

grand total for that match = 16 points

example 2)
no kills but did get 10 assists
so... he got 10 points.

Not as good as the 16 points from example 1 but still good enough to keep him in the running for a top place award at least.

And in either of these examples, stay alive or die... doesnt matter, you did your part in that match and you get awarded points for WHAT YOU DID.

I don't like it, sorry. The best challenges should put some emphasis on winning and staying alive. When it's all about killing, doing damage and getting assists, players are ready to throw their team under the bus just to squeeze in an extra kill before they die. They don't mind if they lose 12-3 as long as they got their 3 kills or 700 dmg or whatever else.

It's not good.

I want to see all future challenges rewarding victories and survival. This weekend was only so unpopular because 20 points is an absurd amount of grinding for most people. If they'd gone with 10, it would have been a much bigger success.

oh I liked this weekends challenge a lot. But in a game like this where you can die quickly, I'd like to see some events where you still get credit for the kills and assists you got before you died. You still did a part before dying. Getting credit for it in some contests would be nice.
