Hello fellow MechWarrior's I have started this thread to ask one simple question, which weight class needs a new solo release mech?

Medium and Heavy have the most numbers right now, so which should get another mech added to it, Light or Assault?

Let me know which you think needs another mech added to its arsenal. :)

the real question is, are they releasing solo mechs anymore, or will they now all be in packs, with solo releases after?

I have heard they are leaning to that, as a more streamlined, efficient method...though I prefer my "Mech of the Month", personally.

It will be the King as I understand. And then, light?

Wasn't the Vindicator the last mech to do this?

I also prefer mech of the month. Releasing it first as a hero, then for MC then for c-bills is the way to go I my opinion. I would be more inclined to purchase a hero thus way as to get a sneak peak, not interested i purchasing expensive packages anymore. Also can I have a thug plz? Sure it's similar to the awesome in hard points but big whoop? I think people would purchase mechs that are similar to each other if they look different, not to mention what they could do with the quirks to seperate them. There is also a lot of variants to choose from as well as hero's... Plus it's one of the few battletech mechs that I think look cool before the mwo treatment.

After the King Crab, I'm hoping for another light. Maybe the Javelin, as aside from the Urbie it's the only non-Unseen Succession Wars-era light 'Mech not yet in the game. A redesigned Falcon might be cool too, though the FLC-4P and FLC-4N look like they'd be very similar to the Firestarter -S and -H respectively, just 5 tons lighter.

For the next assault, I'm hoping for the Cyclops. Again, one of the few Succession Wars assaults yet to appear.

All of the Succession Wars-era heavies are in the game now or about to be (woah) but there are quite a few Star League-era to go. Personally, I'd like to see either the Black Knight or the Flashman as a competitor to the Orion.

As for mediums, I feel we need more of the lighter mediums in the game. The Vulcan or the Hermes II would both make for nimbler machines than any other medium except the Cicada, while also bringing some unique style to the game.

I guess after the Resistance pack will first come another clan pack, then a pack with Javelin, Hermes II, Black Knight and Cyclops. People just seem to like packs, and PGI has certainly noticed that, too.

I vote Cyclops... he is like a small smaller atlas only with a giant command console, but until they fix those and C3 systems I'm not sure I could like him any more than just for the fact of being a Cyclops.

Who's with me!?

We need a fast-for-the-class maneuverable assault mech with jump jets and enough laser hardpoints to make a light think twice.

No actually F*** that. We need melee attacks!

I too prefer both the one-per-month plan and the Thug. (I salute your good taste sir/ma'am!)

The great thing about one mech a month is that it gives us something to look forward to each month instead of a sort of "Yeah yeah whatever" feeling that I get about mechs coming out once I've already been fighting them for 2-3 months. Even better, I am willing to say that the game isn't pay to win when it takes two weeks for a mech to come out after the cash release. Russ admitted that the clan pack made the game pay to win from June until this last week, and that drove me away from the game pretty hard. PGI clearly knows that it's not at all fun to go up against people in superior equipment and just lose even if it's fair for your team; that was their reason for not giving us 10v12. Well, when you release excellent mechs like the Timberwolf and they're cash-only for almost half a year, that does pretty bad things to the player base's outlook on things. The situation is okay now, but that's only because the MLX and IFR are truly terrible mechs. As soon as something good comes out again, we're back in the same old situation.

And yeah, the Thug is great! It's an Awesome, but cooler. I'd absolutely love to see what FD could do with it.

Bish meant that it's "fair" for the IS to not have an ECM heavy because the Clams don't have an ECM assault.

Or medium, for that matter...
