Catapult PPC's

was it was a normal Catapult, but that on the actual Catapult there were PPC cannons on it.
Does that mean we can change the missile launchers on our founder catapults to PPC cannons?

We're aware of that, but based on the information we've seen so far, the base variant has energy mounts in its side torsos with enough room to mount PPCs. You'll have to clear out at least some of the Medium Lasers to make space and free hardpoints, and the LRMs will have to be cut back to save weight, but it can be done.
This does make the K-2 somewhat less attractive as an option, although it does have ballistics mounts.

It shouldn't, the hardpoints on the torso should be restricted to missile weapons in the base variant, regardless of how many slots there are.

The Catapult's missile pods are counted as it's "arms". I'm talking about the torso-mounted Medium Lasers. They're in energy mounts, and unless there's literally critical space for two Medium Lasers and nothing else, there will be room to fit a PPC in there.
Again, I'm not talking about the K-2.

The base variant has 4 Medium Lasers in the torso and missiles in the arms...
EDIT: Voyager I beat me to it

I see what your talking about. Why get a K-2 when you can get the stock variant to become one....with lrms to boot.
I guess the main advantage of the K-2 would then be that it can mount more lasers / ppcs than the stock variant as it has extra energy hardpoints in its "arms" and probably the torso maybe.
The other advantage would probably be that the K-2's ppcs can traverse slightly sort of like arms, whereas to make a K-2 from a stock variant your restricted to torso mountings which can only move with your torso and don't really converge either.
However I have no idea if that is actually the case, they might be fixed as if they are torso mounted so who knows about that one.
