Yeah, It's a little square icon in the upper left corner that shows up sometimes when launching a match. It's half blue, half grey. And it doesn't show up when you try to take screenshot of it.

That icon was asked about in the Karl thread. He asked the UI guys and they reportedly just smiled at him. That was what he said.

I have a pretty long list of minor bugs that go back to Open Beta, so there's a good chance it's a bug that haven't been bothered to fix

No idea what you're talking about... does that blue/gray thing show up when searching a game? That could explain why I never saw it as most of the time I ALT-TAB and do other stuff until it finds a game (MWO start blinking in tray when game found).

It shows up occasionally on the match loading screen once MM finds the match (not the searching screen, but the static loading screen that shows which map you're going to play on). Then it disappears once the player roster/ready screen appears.

That screen only show up for a second, I never have the time to read the tips at the bottom so that could explain why I never see the thing you're discussing. I imaging that if I had a SSD that screen would not even show up at all?
