Say I know our team is going to lose. For sure. If I'm brawling someone and hails of missiles begin to fall I'll just press the override button and kill myself.

I don't normally have a problem with missiles through I see everyone complain about them. This is the first time I've experienced them raining down like crazy. I have no problem giving the brawler the kill, or the people who hunted me down, but the second the missles start to pour I go for my override.

Bad, right?

If you're overriding to get a shot off on an enemy and overheat, fine.

If you're doing it to suicide on purpose? You're an *******.

It mostly A, but also a small bit B. I never use the override normally, but I figure at least I can try to get another kill, AND if I end up killing myself ahh well. Usually I don't think "ahh well, I killed myself" because that seems stupid, but with the rain coming it doesn't bother me so I actually use my override. Like I said, I don't mind being killed by missiles normally.

If your team is going to lose, go for the C-bills and XP, **** the tournament.

Killing people of the winning team is pretty evil thing, but doing it on override is very very dark art MUAHAHAHA

I overheat a lot anyway since I use slow mechs when im being overwhelmed I override and keep shooting. Usually ends in a suicide but whatever doesnt give them the kill. Do they get assist off of it though?

Yes, they do.

No, of course not.

That is not the reason you're a bad person.

LOL, I've thought this a few times too. If we're getting rolled part of me wonders if I should even bother killing anyone since they won't get points, but it just doesn't sit well to not try and take as many of them down as I can.

Just don't waste those alphas; try to kill that spotter while tapping the override.

You might get lucky, lose an arm and survive after breaking LoS. Or you get unlucky and blow your cockpit at 102% heat.

Going out in a blaze of glory is exactly that: glorious.

Firing lasers into space so you can overheat and deny someone else a kill: lame.

I think every single person in game should do this if they think they will lose. Due to this contest this weekend it has made people -- stupid and bad at matches. They run they hide after they get a kill forget we need the kill. THEY shoot right through you team shoot -- screw around and play horridly.

In short these contests make for bad LRM boats and people not play like a team due to solo contests. Its stupid plain and simple in a team based game.

I think it's hilarious. If the goal for the enemy is to get another point in the tournament, then doing anything you can to deny them that point is a legitimate tactic.

Anybody complaining about that is a strategic ignoramus.

If you need to use LRM's to complete this challenge, you're probably not that awesome to begin with.

I run off the map or blow myself up a few times when my team is losing horribly, but that's only because there isn't a surrender or eject command.

I look at it this way.

When your team has played a crappy match, and left you alone to face 9-10 guys, what difference is it going to make anyway.

I'd rather nuke myself trying to fight back than overheat and freeze and still die.

If you take one of theirs out with you, even better.

Now if its early in the match, and I get surrounded because my team would rather play Nascar driver than cover their teamates which happens alot.

Instead of just frantically trying to catch up to my already distant team and getting my ass blown out, I'll turn, hit override and do what I can.

Same deal, I was going to get killed anyway, might as well try to make them pay for it.

I would rather someone override than hide and shutdown. Had it happen twice today, one guy saying he didn't want to give the other team the XP and salvage. Why? You are not on a "team", the grouping is random. You might be helping a future group member while gaining XP and C-bills to boot.

But some people are scurred to temporarily lose their digital pixels.
