The last challenge was pretty frustrating, but still doable. Took about the standard amount of time to accomplish as the last couple of challenges. However, the rage on the Forums was outstanding. The belly to belly, Sumo action as people ran in to protect their kills was glorious. The cowering as pilots hid to protect their Center Torsos, after securing their 1 kill, sweet nectar. The only way it could have been better was for their to be Repair and Rearm so that people could lose c-bills as they paid to pilot their Assaults and Heavies.

So, I issue this challenge to you PGI. Bring it on. Make a challenge that will sweep the Forums with nerd rage. Make a challenge that causes horribads to destroy their keyboards as they are flung across the room. All you have to do is ask Paul to design it. It will keep him busy and occupied ... well away from other things.

lol ... I am just playing. Good challenge. Good reward. Dont let the QQ tell you otherwise.

If the challenge was too much for you ...

Would find it hilarious to have a challenge where lrm kills/assists/damage don't count. Loved this last challenge.

To get that all you would have to do would be to make a tournament where kills/assists are worth say about 20 each, then add in scouting/spot assists/narcing for around 5-10 points each. Then for damage have it actually subtract from your score the more you have instead of add to it.

For example, say you have a pretty good match and get yourself 4 kills, 3 assists and about 6 spotting assists, well thats 190 points. But you did say 800 damage, if we take what they have been using for the formula and divide it by 15 that would be a negative 53.3 points, so your score would be 137.

That would make good aiming a key to doing well in the tournament.

Obviously how much stuff would be worth would have to be up to PGI, but if we are looking for a tournament to really fill the forums with rage, I think that would be a start.

Edit: But unfortunately many people would game the hell out of this by not firing until as many as possible of the enemy team had an open CT.

yes, so because you enjoy and are fine with most players playing bad, it is a good challenge, and everyone that is tired of idiocy is a bad.

Kiss my grits, sparky.

I hated it so much. If i wanted points i had to Kill a few people then hide. This is not how i play. I play 100% until im dead. I dont pull back behind my teammates and snipe over the top. So over all no victor for me. I would have to play all weekend for 30 hours to get one.

I hope they never do this again.

True "Rage" would be easy.

2 Kills, 4 assists, Survive and Win, with only "consecutive" wins counted for a point.

That would have been 8 points for myself, instead of 21. RAGE on dawg! ;)

When I got into the groove of this challenge was when I stopped removing myself from the game and started focusing more on the "win" bit than the rest. Hiding made me lose out on more points than packing up with the group for the game's duration.

Yes, after taking some damage, you need to cycle back or you don't get your point. That said, in most cases, second line support for the rest of the match is more productive than taking hits (probably not even in a way that lets your team return fire if you're in the solo queue) for a few seconds.

This challenge really enforced a need to play well.

Toss in the requirement that not a single bad word or rage statement be made by anyone on your team and we have a deal.

Maybe even make a tournament called The Zellbrigen, and the only way to score points is to get the solo kill reward in a match. Say one point for each solo kill, or just one point for each match where you got the reward.

Very true.

For the first few games after I got my kill and took some damage I tended to hang back out of harms way, but I quickly realized that I could still function effectively as a second line supporter. I learned I am much more valuable to my team as a second liner then as a soon-to-be-dead front liner. I am sure some players saw my behavior as cowardly as they turned and moved to front and promptly got killed, not realizing the full scope of my contributions over the course of the entire match, and not just to moments I was taking cover.
