Other than that, I'm no longer interested in the Cicada. Simply put, it's an example of the quirks almost actively punishing those who dare to load different weapons onto it. You're unlikely to see a 2A with pulse lasers, or a 2B with standard mediums. Just feels like it surpresses customization.

Mostly its the lack of excessive leg armor bonus to compensate for how completely broken the leg hitboxes are on those mechs.
I'm sure not buying any of the Victors, and If I didn't already have my 9B in storage, and that nice new 9S(C) gifted to me, I probably wouldn't mess with them at all, they're just not the same beastly brawler/sniper that they used to be.
Everything else looks pretty decent if not outstanding.

I run this: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...0cd64eb0744feef on my QKD and let me tell you it is very competitive, it's extremely mobile with its improved jumpjets. It's strictly limited to close range brawling/poptarting obviously which hampers its performance on certain maps, but if you can get within 270m it's a beast. Don't discount the QKD, all the variants got some extremely good quirks and are MUCH better with JJs now.

It allows them a way to add some additional balance to the quirks. Maybe PGI feels 25% to A/C 10 is ok and say 12.5% is fair for an A/C 20 where as 25% buff for an A/C20 would be too much.

ah I see. still, I feel that current system pigeonholes mechs a lil too much.

It probably does a bit. I think PGI is going to do another quirk pass soon. I think they are redoing some quirks for some mechs, but I don't think they are going to make any quirks less restrictive... That I know anyway.

I only kept the C1 and K2. I feel both missed the mark a bit. Both (and probably all Catapults) needed a buffed CT instead of side torsos.
The K2 did get nice buffs to ballistic cooldown, but it really should have gotten PPC projectile speed buffs instead. Since the CT is squishy, fire support is the best role. High mount PPC sniper would have made more sense. The ballistics buff is nice, but you have to expose the K2 to enemy fire a bit and the softer CT really shows.
As for the C1, the quirks were ok. I expected missile quirks anyway. I still would have liked a tougher CT though and a bit more help in the energy weapon dept.

Increasing range on Large Lasers and nothing else is kinda silly when you can just plug in ER Large Lasers if you need the range. They should've just combined the bonuses for one weapon so it can do something well rather than splitting it between missile and large lasers.

You can get similar to that with the ON1-M, but it doesn't allow dual LBX, but has the quirks. I run a bunch of SRMS and the LBX in mine and it can be fun.
I really wanted the quickdraw to be as good as the dragons, but it didn't seem to come up to that level.
I didn't buy the battlemasters because I felt their quirks were out of line from what they normally have or have stock. The M model has a gauss buff? Weird.

Personally I don't think the structure bonuses are worth anything. +8-10 internal hp won't do much to ward off a Gauss or PPC round, especially with the sheer amount of rounds fired in at any given time.
