My play style focuses on team victory. Which this challenge punished. It is rare for everyone to live through a fight.

And the match maker maybe balanced for pre-mades with the 3/3/3/3 limit. But the drops themselves were VERY heavy this weekend.

I rarely saw more then 1 or 2 light mechs in a match. And the matches tended towards more Assualts then anything else.

And the point of this challenge was to stay alive at the price of everyone else.

If you are going to award victory then it should be rewarded to the VICTORIOUS TEAM. That would be true victory.

This was a bring the most tonnage and luck that got you the win.

You had to be lucky to be ignored for most of the match so you had the armor.

Or be an LRM spam boat.

And that is how I went from 4 points to 13 points in one day.

Made my AH a LRM 30 with BAP, and 2000 rounds of ammo. Stayed out of range so as to NOT die and be fast enough to run away from everything but the rare light.

And the side with the most weight of armor tended to win. That is luck more then anything when the match maker, even in a PUG, throws 4 + assaults on one side and you are lucky to have one or two on yours.

I stopped trying after the 1st point the Victor is a joke of a mech and anything with the C at the end isn't worth the time.

Keep in mind I did survive a LOT of matches, but not kills.

It honestly should have been an either or. Either survive or get a kill. Both together makes it so you have to be lucky or so "end game" out in mods.

I ended up having to take a few month break due to life happening. I am just now being able to buy up the mods I need after about a year of play.

Yes it should be a challenge, but a new player, just trying out the game should have a chance to win it. From what I saw a new player would not stand a chance with the type of game play this challenge both encouraged and made a requirement.

Got at least 11 matches were I survived but didn't get a kill. Had a lot of matches where I got a kill, but didn't survive.

And that was the "Challenge" Get a Kill, an Assist, Survive and Win (x 20). First point paid you a Bonus to C-Bills for the whole weekend. The other 19 were just gravy... :)

They can't always have Halloween type "Challenges". Just show up and everyone gets loads of treats...

I played about 20 matches. Got 1 point. 3 days of premium time. yay.

If I see any more of these silly challenges, I'm considering this game "two steps forward, one step back" queefer online. Yes. I'm annoyed. Can you tell?

I'm going to take a break from this game for a couple of days. Happy thanksgiving everyone.

3 days

147 matches

2 hours left on the clock.

13 points.

7 hours

43 matches(8 of them in the group queue)

20 points.

I had a blast and yes, this was the most "challenging" challenge that really tested how much you could impact a match. I loved it.

Well, one thing's for sure; this challenge has ruffled some feathers.

I liked the scoring system and found it to be very challenging. I just think 20 points was a bit extreme for a mech (yes, even a VTR-9S Champion).

On the upside, in the 50 matches I played I basically earned enough c-bills to buy the damn thing if it were available for c-bills. :D

Old fable of "Uncle" offering to help nephew grow strong arms.

but first - the nephew would have to saw that pile of logs into small pieces for the fireplace

after that was done - after the summer - he would then teach him

the nephew agrees and proceeds far into the hot summer days in great anticipation of his Uncles lessons.

............you all know where this is going.

There is a difference between a challenge that requires skill and one that relies on luck.

I had one match were we were up with only an Atlas still up. The other guys all had weapons and they watched as the Atlas chased me and killed me and they ran away.

That is the type of "team work" this challenge inspired.

Get a kill, get an assist and hey 5 mins on the clock and an assault mech is still up. Lets run away. To bad, to sad if he finds you and kills you.

Saw this sort of thing all weekend.
