So just thinking about something and curious for some input from others.

What do people think about the schedule/ frequency of the challenge/ tournament events?

You get free stuff... though it's true that some take it too far in pug games.

Edit: In fact if they increased time limits and stuff that'll be greatly appreciated too. Moar free stuff!

I love this new side of the game. After being around since closed beta and watching the game grow more and more stale and repetitive, this new influx of challenges, events, holiday tourneys, etc. is a refreshing change for the better. Keep'em coming!

I hope you are not referring to me directly. This is simply a discussion thread on the topic of the frequency and weekend timing cause I have seen posting in game with many different opinions.

ETA: Jesus some people.. who make comments based on assumptions.

the only change i would like to see are some random mid week challenges... Tons of people work on the weekends, and miss out.. I would really like to see some of these challenges be mid week events too. Maybe do a mini challenge of sorts like a one day event. Mix up the days ect..

To me it seems like they must be doing something right, as numbers of players are up, and people seem to be enjoying themselves for the most part.. outside of the random troll/jerk... but those are hardly limited to events

I like the variety and frequency of these events. Gives me something new to look forward to each weekend.
That said, I wouldn't complain if they changed the events to fortnightly. I can understand how some people may feel fatigued if events happen too often. This event in particular sure did take some grinding (53 games for me)

Funny how some immediately assume a thread has an underlining agenda aimed at criticizing the rewards or whatever. I appreciate all the rewards PGI gives for these events and nothing was made mention anywhere in my posts otherwise.

would love some to be not weekend only. i work ever weekend, i feel i get left out on some of these events

Playing devil's advocate, I think the complaint is this: When you have a tournament or challenge, people play differently, and "ruin" the experience of the folks who don't want to play differently, or who don't want the rest of the players to play differently.

For me, I like the variety. I like how the events shake things up. I say keep it coming. I say to those players who hate it: Sorry if all the players in this free game aren't conforming to the playstyle you want them all to use at the same time so that your experience is exactly what you want it to be. That's a real tough break for you. Oh the humanity.
