I love the longbow. But the archer gives more bang for the dollar. especially in weight limited engagements. When i played hardcore, in most instances, our table rules were 1 lance, 250-300 tons, random pilots. So most games didnt involve assault mechs.

Panther
Archer x2
Hunchback
My usual lance
brutality incarnate

Some of my favorites:

Stone Rhino - aka Amaris' Folly, the Behemoth just looks pimp and with clan tech it actually works B)

Black Knight - I dig the Star Wars bounty hunter mech, what can I say

Thug - Hug the Thug!

Naga - Arrow IV's FTW! I still remember the duel in, whas it Mechwarrior 2? Where you drop onto a moon to fight a Ghost Bear dude, I don't remember what he says because I always killed him with my dual Arrow IV's before he got through his monologue.

Swayback - remove that ac/20, put in a million medium lasers, and suddenly that hunchback rips it up, sustainably!

Kintaro-CL - the clan refit means tarcomp, pulse, and streak mmmmmm.

For the artwork of course the old Harmony Gold mechs FTW, all of them :D

I've been a lover of Battletech since I first laid eyes on it back in the mid 80s. I loved slugging it out on the table top battlefields with the 75 ton Maraurder and nothing else had its cool bird look design. I was also a big fan of the Awesome and its 3 PPCs.

I'm looking forward to piloting the best of what's available, see you on the battlefield.

Good Hunting,

CmdrSpider

How about a 55 tonne jump capable mech. The original work horse mechs were the trio of Shadowhawk, Wolverine, and Griffin. 5/8 moderately fast, reasonably armoured, a good mix of long and short range weapons. These were the backbone of most armies for centuries. Toss in the Phoenix Hawk (a faster jump capable 45 tonner) and you've got one third of the original mechs. Right now we simply don't have anything comparable in our line up.

The Dragon, the Trebuchet, the Centurion are all good solid mechs in a similar weight category, but we don't have any jump capable medium mechs -that's simply not right.

This B) The Thug would be nice too.

The original Stone Rhino was completed and produced by Clan Smoke Jaguar, rights were won for Clan Jade Falcon soon after, the style shown in that picture is the original style, why it needed to be unseen is beyond me (I cannot think of what HG show it is from) but the new "re-seen" or behmoth 2 is ugly in comparison.

it bears a striking resemblance to the MAC II and MAC III from Macross, and sentinals. that would be my guess.

We already have a Catapult. The Longbow is like a mix between the Catapult and the Archer. So I'd really rather see an Archer first. Also, the Longbow was not one of the original tech readout mechs.

? Who said it had to be one of the original tech readout mechs?

Check TRO:3039 p301 - The Longbow was manufactured continuously from Star League era all the way through the Succession Wars.

If it is a 'mix' of the Catapult and the Archer, then the Atlas is a 'mix' of the Jenner and the Hunchback. The longbow is an assault class missile boat.

I would love to see it, assuming they can get new artwork for it.

I'm talking about visual comparison, not weight class. The longbow is a missile boat with launchers for arms. The Archer is a missile boat with launchers in the side torsos. The Catapult is a missile boat with launchers in the arms. The difference between the Archer and the Catapult, other than the arms, is larger LRM launchers, like the Longbow has. More power to you if you'd like to see it in MWO as a priority, but the LRM launcher arm chassis is already filled with the Catapult. I'd love to see the Longbow eventually in MWO as well, but not as one of the first mechs near launch. Many, many, many other mechs more deserving for the sake of variety.
