Greetings DEVS,
First I think you guys are doing a great job. The new map is gorgeous. I have wanted to see water drag in the various maps. I think it would be more realistic having the smaller mechs walk slower in water that larger heavier mechs. just like the drag we get for going up a hill ect... going up hill effect larger mechs more and smaller mech less.

Also some of my mercs brothers and I were talking and an underwater map would be awesome. I remember from MW2 day thee was a scenario where a mech had to attack an underwater base. ony PPC and torpedoes were in that scenario. Just a thought would be great fun.

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK !!!

While an underwater map would be neat, I am against water drag. It would kill Light Mechs.

Frankly, I would like to see the Hill Climb penalty reduced. It's pretty ridiculous on some maps.

Agreed, Broadway! I have already said that, actually. It makes no sense not to have that feature by now if we already have hill effect.

And it wouldn´t kill light mechs, only those without jumpjets. Then again: we should be able to select what kind of mechs we want to use in each map. It´s just logical.

1) "...only those without jumpjets...": That's a lot of Lights that would get discarded because of this.

2) "...hill effect...": That's one of the worst things ever implemented in this game. When the Hill Climb effect for buffed so monstrously, it became ludicrous. We have walking Mechs; not rolling cars. There is no reason for us not to be able to step over ankle high obstructions or out of streams (Canyons comes to mind). Using this debacle as a reason to justify water drag is not a good idea.

3) "...select...mechs...": Agreed.

Agree on water drag. How about 10% reduced speed
?
Since lights are smaller and their legs are usually slimmer, the drag on these mechs should not be soo dramatically.
But i think it would add to the depth of the game, and would force people to actually THINK and understand their terrain better
.
Also, what could be really really cool, wold be to have the water in some maps be soo deep that some mechs could actually hide in it (not being able to shoot their weapons, and being way harder to target, and probably be harder to hit, with maybe reduces damage).

Would be nice to sneak past the wreck in Forest colony without the enemy noticing me, and be a more effective scout.
However, being fully submerged should create a LOT of drag.

That's already the case with some mechs in a version of forest colony.

Using the source material it should be 50% for the water drag but considering that hill climb is already reduced by about half, water drag should be between 20% to 25%.

YES, water should create drag... If you don't like it, don't go in it...

Also while certain things are a bit overboard with the "hillclimb" you guys refer to cayon and getting out of the creek. What you are NOT saying here is that creek bed is up above your mechs knees. You aren't going to just "step" out of that... just sayin... You should not be able to just climb up any hill you wish. If you could not walk up a hillside easily in real life it should be 10 times harder to walk up it in a 40-100 ton mech.
