Well, the Gargoyle II, technically, dubbed the Grotesque. A design I made for the Dark Age setting where once again, an existing chassis is updated to meet the demands of the modern era, but with minimal amount of time and expense. So like the Thor, Madcat and Vulture II, the Grotesque was born.

The first step taken to update the Grotesque from it's ancestor was to build it on an endosteel chassis. Another decision was to not add any fixed external heatsinks, beyond the basic 10 that came with it's massive 400XL engine. This allows it unmatched flexibility compared to other older Omnis that often end up over-sinked when running builds not focused on energy weapons, though at the expense of some internal space should a heavy heatsink load be called for.

The armor was deemed sufficient, with just minor adjustments to better cover problem areas that had been identified over decades of battle. And lastly a fixed ECM suite is installed in the head. Thanks to this, the new Omni boasts 30 tons of available Pod Space, and more importantly the loadout flexibility to maximize that tonnage.

The Prime variant is meant to operate as a city fighter a brawler. To accomplish that, it features a pair of arm mounted Heavy Large Lasers, paired with Stream 6 packs. Supporting these are an additional Heavy Small Laser in the midline, and 4 Machine Guns, 2 in each torso, for use when the main weapons need time to cool off, or facing infantry and Elementals. An extra 8 DHS are added to combat the fearsome heat of the Heavy lasers, and lastly, 4 Pod mounted Jump Jets are added to aid it's ability to navigate and ambush enemy units in tight confines.

One final boon, is on cursory inspection, it appears to be a normal Gargoyle.

In all, a fearsome in fighter.

Notable Pilots:

Mechwarrior Illya
Illya is a freeborn of Clan Ghost Bear. Fiercely loyal to the Dominion, he has already notched up an impressive kill count in his Grotesque Prime, "Le Stryge". He has no interest in politics, or command, but simply desires to continue his career as the best city fighter in the Dominion.

As for the drawing itself, it's just the next step on my existing pencil drawing of the Gargoyle. Hopefully will find time to refine, clean and finish it, soon.

It's been a real treat to watch as your art style has evolved and developed. The detail on this mech is real eye candy.

I'd really like to see your handy work at the Owens Bishop, always a treat to see you draw. Or possibly even the Uzile.

I know Mech Assault was a bad game (I liked it, but whatever) I like the Owens from that game a lot.

I think the best thing about your art Bishop is just how dynamic you manage to make the 'Mechs feel. Compare this to MW:O art, which is detailed and can be pretty good with re-imagining older concepts, but ultimately rather static, your artwork is both detailed and action-packed, and adds so much character to the 'Mechs themselves. :)

Oh, and of course, you have a great eye for proportion and hence the proportions of your 'Mechs are so much more pleasing than a lot of what we have in MW:O. ;)

Well..thanks! Still wouldn't put myself in the same zipcode as Shim or FD, no matter the dynamics, but at least I guess I got a bit of my own thing going.
