(Dell i3 with Windows 8)

---GAME STARTED CRASHING TO DESKTOP WHEN I WAS LOGGING IN ---

-Ran the Malware and Anti-Virus - nothing

-Tried rolling back my recent "Update" to run the game - no luck

-Tried to Un-install the game and it wouldn't let me! Wiped it manually, and went back to "vacuum out" all the extra files and tidbits left over.

-went to re-install and was told I couldn't due to a "Fatal Error" during installation. A log was provided, but not being a programmer I have no idea what it means...

-sent in a Help ticket, but Alex has not responded to my idea of editing the MWO Public Test software I still have loaded to send me instead to the Regular MWO game...

-made sure I have the latest Direct X and .NET per the post in Workarounds.

-have tried to copy and paste that Log for you guys... but the Forum won't let me?!?! :(

Help please! Getting MWO withdrawal pains....

Hey William,

I don't show any tickets in our system listed under the e-mail associated with your account. If you tried submitting through the site-based ticketing system, can you re-send your ticket directly through e-mail to support@mwomercs.com?

Absolutely! Thanks for the reply! :)

Also, still interested in anyone else's help if they are experiencing similar problems!

Hopefully if you have this fixed, this would be for someone else who finds this post with the same error message.

(error message "fatal error" during install)(microsoft kb)

(nice video regarding error)

Most likely permission issue. Make sure you right click on the file and choose run as administrator.
Check the install folder or choose another location that you have more permission to like my documents rather than program files also choose the C: drive, not some attached drive or dvd drive by mistake.
Also some systems block files downloaded from the web, you need to choose unblock from the properties page before you run it. see this link for details on that.
