AMS isn't something you must have. It's nice but not a must. Every clan mech can have an ams which is a great option. This is no way a disadvantage compared to IS whos majority of mechs don't have any possible way of having ams.

I think this is fine, you're making a trade off.

It's a small price to pay to be able to customize your omni-pods.

Literally every IS mech has an AMS hardpoint bar the X-5, so, "majority having no possible way of having AMS"? Yeah, no.

Other then tonnage? Which EVERY MECH MUST GIVE UP....what are you talking about SACRIFICING hardpoints? If you put AMS on you dont magically LOSE hardpoints. Might have less slots in a Component but DUH thats because you are now using AMS.

Clan Mechs do, in the sense that the AMS-capable omnipods have fewer hardpoints than the omnipods that do not have AMS. Or, occasionally, the ones that don't have AMS instead have better quirks.

Clan Mechs definitely give up something in order to bring AMS.

(Not that it matters... AMS is garbage anyway.)
