PauloBR and I went out in a private match again and recorded the hitboxes once more. I'm happy to say, it's all looking good. The questionable hitboxes appear gone!

I'm not sure if it was adjusted or not, but the head seems MAYBE slightly larger, adjusted upwards. That's fine, because it's tiny. The reports of still being hit from behind are likely a result of the raised missile box on the left shoulder. I couldn't get damage to register on the front torso from behind except from that raised hump. Likely if anyone takes damage from behind now, it's LRMs hitting that section. To me, that's fine.

Everything seems to make sense. I only included one side because the other is a mirror. The only part I didn't get well was the sides of the "nose." Russ said they adjusted it, and I thought I noticed more side torso, but didn't get a good record. If anyone would like to test this, please do, because I'm going to play the game now!

Once again, thanks to the PGI crew and PauloBR!

So what happened to the newer method of splitting the groin/crotch into LL-CT-RL?

I shot all around the legs... The images above are what I saw.

I do encourage others to try; I didn't test this iteration out nearly as much as the last. This one just seems to make sense from everything I've seen.

Great post Green, thanks for checking this out!
Kinda weird that there's no hip split like KrazedOmega mentioned... I thought that was the defacto thing, and mechs were getting updated to that...
I still don't understand the missile tube on the top left though lol.. weeeeeeeeeeird stuff.

Edit: seen above post. Ah. :)

Yeah, I've had enough testing. I'm just enjoying the game for a change. :)

The back definitely seemed to be how I indicated it. The front; I'm not 100% sure. I thought it was the same as above, but it may not be. I tested the trouble areas mainly (the phantom spots on the front, back and sides) to see if they still registered as front CT, and they all looked fixed except for the top box.

This is so much better.

Being able to torso twist, such a joy!

You did great work thanks for your time spent on this Green. Now go enjoy your mechs.

Any idea if the head laser registers as CT or HD? I wouldn't mind the extra head-shot-ability, seems a decent trade off for the sweet over the top shot angle. I'm definitely happy if it's just CT though. :) Already had the head armor blown off by an arty two or three times. 6 armor isn't enough anymore. :P Head hit box seems pretty small, so I was wondering if something like this might be going on.

This info is good for everyone to know, thanks for your efforts!

Much better. Not insta-deathing/insta-coring every time I peek a corner.

hmm, still dying far to often to CT hits than loosing side torso's

either its still broken, or its still not quite right.

pointless running a mech that dies to CT hits quicker than a 45t IS mech.

Maybe it just has a big CT. There are plenty of mechs that make that trade off. In fact on the IS mechs those are usually the prime candidates for XL engines. (Dragon, Catapult, etc)

If the mech front boxes are as indicated, it DOES have somewhatless CT in the crotch, it just bulges out again at the very bottom.

Since the CT quirks my damage per match has gone up significantly...I put up numerous 700+ matches last night with the hellbie.

Maybe you are doing it wrong?

I would love to know this too. For science.

I played the HBR last night after the patch and while i didn't notice the same general wonkiness... it definitely is a squishy mech.

I had some matches where i was able to twist/spread and tank about as much damage as one would expect a 65T mech to be able to... and other matches where it seemed like all it took to drop me was 2 alphas.

Still a little early to say, but i don't think this mech is going to be much of a threat in T2... and won't come close to T1 viability.

Either a Jesus Box holder or a empty missile rack.

One would expect either of those things to count as left torso though, especially because the Jesus Box itself is allocated to the LT...
