Your over generalizations and simplifications are astounding. 10% of the player population isn't going to dictate anything

Yep we are going back to close beta game play. This was exactly how it was before they separated the group and solo ques. You ended up with a PUG fighting against a organized 12 man call out targets. Wasn't pretty for the PUG.
You forget that CW isn't 24/7 persistent. There are going to be like 4-5 hour windows only at prime time in which planets will change hands therefore all a unit has to have is enough people on during those hours to defend it. figure really all you need is 30-40 players active, basically enough for 3 full companies to be prepared for just about anything.
It was noted to be across all major TZ's. So a group would have to have members enough in each of the NA, Europe and Oceanic TZ's, during each of those "peak hours", to cover activities in these regions across 24/7.
It could be seen as a valid tactic for some groups to Attack "out of their TZ" areas" while many defenders would be asleep.

P.S. That has been modified. Stay up as late as you want and fight on other fronts as much as you want. Pretty sure the fighting will migrate as the day cycle wears on though.

1) Use better grammar. It's one thing to have an odd spelling mistake or two, but your entire post is atrocious.
2) I don't care if you play clans or IS. I was pointing out the logical flaws in the person's argument.
3) The lore paints the IS as the good guys versus the bad guy clans...right after the lore spent years describing the IS as being on the edge of barbarism because they had lost so much knowledge from destroying technology and factories. The good boys, as you describe them, were sending humanity backwards, while the clans were inventing new technology, and not just in mechs. Sure, the clans were the bad guys for wanting to conquer the IS, because apparently the great houses of the IS hadn't just spent 300 years trying to do exactly the same thing.

One disco will lead to other discos, as noone feels like playing 20 minutes+ with a major handicap.
There's got to be some way that PGI can manage this and punish (severely) intentional DCers. I mean, they already have a plan to punish - to hopefully lessen - suiciders.
How hard can it be to build a game mechanic that tracks if you've intentionally hit ESC and chosen Quit match/game?

Impossible, sadly.. what if I pull the network cable out of the router?
There's no way to punish this kind of behaviour, except by statistical analysis of individual player behaviour.

Problem is on what variable could this be based on and how would it be presented. Having fought on X number of planet "campaigns" ? the number of their kills ? their " house rank" ? number of battles played ? etc etc
And I really hope they include something to reward people who actually survive matches (tho as they are eating through their 4 mechs does mean they aren't "dying" ingame...) you could imagine that if a player fought and survived on a certain number of battles for a planet which was defended or won he gains a "veteran of imagenaryplanetname campaign"

Complete modules? Do you mean mechs that participate in CW MUST have fully loaded modules? Can you please link a post that says that if true?
Not required, but recommended.

Why is so much of the info in this thread just flat-out wrong?
They got rid of the windows, it's 24/7.

It's hard to find this info. A lot is in the 'town hall' video, which doesn't have a transcript (that I know of last time I looked). So sit through the whole thing, or be uninformed (like me)

ENGAGING IN PLANETARY CONQUEST
During peak player count times throughout the day, planetary control matches will be kicked off within the Faction tab. Players will see planets on the Inner Sphere map which are currently contested and be able to choose to be part of the fight.
What are the peak player count times that you described?
We have been watching peak player times constantly since going live with the game. We are currently looking at 6-8PM PDT for West Coast, 3-5PM PDT for East Coast (6-8PM EDT), and 11AM-1PM PDT for UTC (6-8pm UTC). We may also include prime times for AU and Asian times as well. These numbers are all still to be determined but I just want to let you know that we're not just focusing on North American play times.
I haven't seen anywhere other than the first update they stated it was 24 hours the later updates yielded these two info nuggets.

Russ said in the town hall meeting about CW, which was on November 13th (which is after any command chair post that discusses "attack windows") that "attack windows" were being removed, and CW matches would be available to play 24/7.

Then when you try to pass along the info they just want to argue or call you a liar.
If they want to continue making complaints from an uninformed position let them. People with common sense accept that we aren't going to lie about stuff like this. It makes no sense. They just want to argue about it and their feedback goes ignored because pgi is sitting there shaking their heads wondering wth people like that are complaining about
Someone SHOULD see if ngng would be willing to post a transcript though. I posted a live one of the 1st townhall on the sc forums but I'm not digging through to find it again lol
