Garage slots

1.) How many do we start off with? i.e. Come free with the game. (not counting Founders)
2.) I'm sure we'll be able to buy more slots, if we want more than the initial free ones, but will there be a limit as to how many we can have?
3.) Given that we can make several variants of the same chassis, does that mean we can only use 1 garage slot per chassis? Meaning: Say I have a Centurion in garage slot 1. Can I also buy another Centurion (in a different config.) in garage slot 2? Or would I just choose the Centurion in garage slot 1 and then select the variant I want? (assuming I have the equipment needed to make the variant)

2. We don't know yet, but I doubt there will be a limit.
3. Each variant needs a different slot, say you have a Catapult C1 and you want a K2, you will need a garage slot for the K2.

2.) No idea. Not mentioned anywhere.
3.) I think a mech variant will take up 1 slot. Configs on that variant can be saved and swapped so long as you have the correct equipment, probably.
EDIT: NINJA'ed, damn I'm getting slow

More slots should be bought. For real money, i suspect.

If you are Elite or Legendary however you will get +1 or +4 slots on top of this because they've stated that Founder Mechs do not eat a normal slot. This means that an Elite will get a max of 9 slots and a Legendary will be able to get 12. They may add more slots later but Elites and Legendaries will always be 1 or 4 higher than you.

Thanks!
I read it from a dev post somewhere, probably in the dev forum index. I'm not going to go hunt it for you; you can do that yourself if you like. But note that they could add more before you even get access to the game or before it is released. I doubt they will stay with 8 slots in a game that will quickly have 20+ Mechs. Luckily us Legendaries will always have +4 extra slots to our maximum.

The Elite founders will have a founder mech, a starter mech, and 4 remain bay slots
The Legendary founders will have four founder mechs, a starter mech, and 4 remain bay slots.
Any variant requires its bay slot. Like someone points out if you own a C1, and a K2 Catapult which will use up two of your bay slots. If you need new bay slots then you can buy them as you'd like to.
That's what I interpret from reading Russ' statements.

I know I am very late to the party, but I have a very important (to me) couple questions about the founder's pack.
I know that when you buy one of the ones with the BattleMechs, the BattleMechs each get their own bays and don't take up your four default bays.
My questions are these:
Will I be able to buy more bays with MC or maybe with C-Bills, too?
If so, could you maybe ball-park the price in dollars or an approximation of expected time-played. Though I expect you will take the WoT way and make it MC only, and for that I can not fault you ate all. Game-makers need to eat, too. <3
I swear my most solemn oath that I shall not refer to the figure named when the game actually releases if the price is even substantially different.
I am just going to drop this here and hope one of our Lords and Masters deigns to descend from on high to answer the prayers and queries of we lowly peons.

So if we have FOUR garage slots and we buy Legendary Founders package that FILLS UP FOUR garage slots.... how does that impact the quantity of mechs we can have in our garage? Thank you.
Anyone who buys a Founders Package whether Elite or legendary will still have 4 empty mech bay slots on top of the Mech's they get with Founders.
As of garage slots, I remember one of the Devs saying they won't be limited, as they want you to pack your garage as full as possible. Can't find the post though...

I'm glad they can be bought with in game money and not just real $. If free players have too limited a selection, that's unfair IMO because load out choice is so important in mw.
I would say 8 is just enough for the free cap.... 12 would be better...
Unlimited would be best though!

It's been stated many times, that people who don't pay real money can get exactly the same stuff as people who pay(sans founder mechs) ...it will just take longer(obviously).

No sir, what has been said many times is that people who pay money will not have an inherent or permanent advantage in combat over people who do not. Mech bays are a 'meta game' thing, and exempt from such statements. Also. Founders Mechs. I cannot get one without paying. Ergo, your assertion is false.
