So what does this mean?
"Be aware that faction colors and faction patterns are considered unlocks and will only be granted once."
Does that mean only for 1 mech? Or does that mean 1 time but you can use it on any mechs? I'm not sure I understand what they are saying.

Well it is worded oddly, but I would assume it means if you pick for instance the wolf pattern more than one time you don't get spare colors or patterns to give out to someone else with the new gift system that was introduced.

means you can own one of that pattern and set of colors. as far as I am aware, you can use them on as many mechs and as many times as you want.
