Since almost everyone liked the Halloween event, I think it could be turned into a persistent mechanic in game. But slightly different
If you do well in a match (i.e. match score above X) AND win, you will get a random Salvage item on top of the Salvage CBill bonus.
Most of the time, it could something small like a weapon or something a little better, like consumable modules. It would be something that was on the enemy mechs. i.e. if the enemy team had no one using an ERPPC then you will not get an ERPPC salvage. Or if no one equipped coolshot then coolshot would not be a salvage. (or if this is too complicated, then any random weapon/consumable is still good)
But rarely, you would get a "Damaged Mech" salvage. What this item is, in reality, a temporary CBill sale on one of the 12 chasis/variant that was on the enemy team you were fighting.
At the end of the match, you will be offered a chance to "repair" the "Damaged Mech" but actually it's just buying the mech at a reduced CBill price.
The discount could be anywhere from 10%(Heavily Damaged Mech) to 50%(Slightly Damaged Mech)
It will ONLY be offered at the end of the match and you have to make a choice there and then whether to take it. Something like a coupon.
/obligatory: and, no, nobody actually loses a mech on the losing team.

Interesting.
How would drops be decided? Does everyone on the winning side get something, or is it only for kills? What if you take out an opponent's arm without destroying components inside it?
Would headshot kills grant increased chance of a mech drop?

In TT, destroying a limb would destroy everything inside the limb as well.
