My game generally runs at the vsync which is 60 fps. This is at 1920x1080 which is the monitor natural res. I have everything very high except for particles, shadows, and texture which I've turned down a notch, but it is difficult to tell if that has helped.

The problem is there are many locations in each map where my framerate drops into the red when I start to pan around. I can't figure a rhyme or reason to it myself. This appears to happen irrespective of combat, though I'm a little distracted at that point so maybe I'm just not noticing.

I know that part of my problem is the game not supporting crossfire. So I'm only taking advantage of half my hardware. Any recommendations on which particular settings I should start playing with? I'm trying to go through systematically, but it is tedious and I can't figure out how to do it in a scientific way, apart from maybe dropping into the same testing grounds over and over and then wiggling the screen.

Oh and my processor is overclocked significantly.

The dxdiag doesn't show your OC. What speeds are you running on your parts?

Also, perhaps this should be moved to hardware...?

hey use the amd evolve to optimize your settings for MWO. see if that helps. i did that with nvidia and changed some of the defaults to use a single montior for threads and it helped significantly. i cant look up what settings exactly to change because i don't have an AMD card, but ill come back and update this later.

Yeah, I looked for general tech support and I could not find an appropriate place to post, so I just searched for a forum that had other "should my game run this slow" posts. Sorry if this is the wrong place!

From CPU-Z:
TSC 3292.9 MHz
APERF 4590.2 MHz
MPERF 3292.9 MHz

This matches with what I remember setting up in the BIOS (1.4 multiplier).

No info from the community on MWO unfortunately. It tells me to "check back soon."

Have you created/enabled 3D Application Settings for the MWO executable in the AMD Catalyst and set the AMD CrossFire Mode to 'AFR Friendly'?

Mad Pig, you have no idea how much you just improved my Mechwarrior experience. Thanks! I only had time to run this in the testing grounds so far, but I was able to turn my environment and textures back up to HIGH while leaving everything else on VERY HIGH. Average fps were much closer to the 60hz limit. Lowest fps are much, much better. They're staying in the 40-50fps range.

Thanks again!!
