It has been about a month or two since I logged in, and decided to finally check out some of my Wave II Clan mechs and play a few matches tonight. My ping has always consistently been sub 100, averaging between 60-80.

So far tonight, if I'm lucky, I'll be at around 120, but more often than not I was anywhere between 200 and 400. Everyone else in the game were typically around the 70 range like I used to be. Here's my connection speed according to Speedtest.net (I live in Austin, TX FYI):

...yet, my connection in MWO seems consistently abysmal as of late. The only thing I've changed since I last played is I upgraded my router from using a Time Warner Arris modem/router hybrid, to bridging it to a top rated D-Link (Model DIR-850L). My PC is plugged in via ethernet.

Is anyone else expeirencing this issue/does anyone have any suggestions? Do I need to port forward anything perhaps?

Vert,

I live in round rock (north Austin). I can tell you the same thing is happening to me and several others that play in our area. From my research its a problem with the link we have from newark to the datacenter in montreal. They just brought some more fiber online yesterday so we should see the problem level out soon. Im working with tech support on the issue, ill let you know if i find anything out.

but in short, your not alone, anyone in Austin has the same 120 ping that bounces as high as 1000 during peak times.

see my posts on page 4 5 and 6.

Thanks for the reply, and yeah I'm around North Austin as well. I was worried it somehow had something to do with my router switch - it's good to know that I didn't mess anything up, but it's also worrisome that our area is experiencing this issue. Hopefully it's remedied in the near future and any new info you get regarding our issue would be extremely appreciated!

You're having better luck than me.

I'm in Austin proper, and support basically blew me off after I provided tracert's showing exactly which link in their datacenter was bad. Got a canned "check your antivirus" response.
