from the front. But it's an LRM catcher from above, and from the flanks and rear, it's sticks out worse than Shakira, Beyonce, J-Lo and Iggy Azalea combined.

It's gonna have it's weaknesses, like the DW. But those will be hard to notice if you try to go toe to toe with it, likely.

Though from Sean's video (of course he was staring like a nub, lol) it did take a lot of CT damage.

My favorite part was how, in the first battle with the DWF, he tanked damage using the arm that had the AC/20 in it instead of the empty one (one the rare occasion he did twist).

Still looks like it might be a fun ride and the model, regardless of performance, looks good. On the other hand maybe that scale comparison shot will get the Catapult shrunk...wishful thinking right?

Yeah, not trying to tear em apart here, but if you're going to advertise it.... one, how about "stock" loadouts, like the old videos, and two, actually pilot it like you know how. I mean is Cattra's job dependant on making Sean Look good/Cattra look bad, in these videos, lol?

Catapult....... *SMH*...sad panda on so many levels.

As for the KGC, I do think it'll be solid, fun mech, just when I see all the "OP" and "Broken" posts, I think reality checks are needed. But then, I'm that guy who really feels the only truly "broken" mechs, atm are the TW, SC and FS9s.

Honestly though, all this King Crab revealing is making me want the Crab in game more now.

I was thinking of the next IS pack having Mongoose, Black Knight, and Cyclops for sure. Now I can't decide if I'd rather see the Assassin or Crab as the medium. Think the Crab would basically be like a non missile CN9-AL, but who cares...I still want it. Assassin too...I'm greedy. LOL.

I wouldn't mind the Crab, but we have a lot of 50 tonners (Centurion, Enforcer, Hunchback, Trebuchet, and Nova). Would like a few more 40s first, namely the Assassin and the Vulcan.

That's kind of why I want the Assassin, get the Cicada some friends. Come February though I'll probably be too distracted by my new FedCom Enforcer to care much. :D

Even double AMS and ECM will not save this big fella from soaking LRMs like a sponge with that vertical profile...

Yes, it has a weakness. (If you look, the DW and Warhawk have not dissimilar top views). The Death Star has an external exhaust port leading straight to it's furnace.....

which is why this is a team game. Friendly ECM/AMS, life is good.

Holy heck that KC is tiny. I was expecting it to be much, much bigger. I mean if you look carefully, it really isn't any wider than the Atlas and it has a much lower profile than the Dire Wolf. Sure it is long but with its good torso twist (unlike the Dire) your almost always going to be looking straight at it, not at its sides.

Poor catapult, it's so broken.

They really need to rescale the Catapult. It's way too big and since they tacked on VCR's for extra missiles any argument for extra volume in the ears kind of falls flat.

Fully agree about the Catapult. I mean it is honestly bigger than the crab and it is 35 tons lighter.

Arms are way too big when not closed IMO.

Yeah that is the one thing I don't like about it myself. However those are going to be huge shields. I mean for an outside the box build, try mounting MGs in the arms and then load up on Energy and Missiles in those extremely high mounted hard points on top of its shell, then use the arms as shields. Something like 2 x ER PPC, 2 x ER LL and as many SRMs as you can fit for example. Should be very durable without losing much power if any at all.

Understood... and quite honestly I'm happy is does. I believe all mechs should have inherent weaknesses to offset any potential advantage they harbor.

I raised the point more as a countenance to any inference that it's going to be OP... ;)

just seen the sneak peak video, the KC was wreaking the Daishi and Atlas-S like some 50ton mechs. King Crab is OP nerf it :)

Do you think that dude was picked to be PGI's propaganda rep because of his in game skills?

"But the arms of the catapult are mostly empty space..........................." (True Story Dev Commment)

So why does shooting all that empty space destroy my components?

Looks pretty good to me at least from this angle. If anything it may or may not be smaller than the other 100tonners. But its hard to say with just this angle.

Here is some ingame comparisons provided by NGNG:

The arm cannons are still a liiittle higher than a Cataphracts, though. At least the top cannon.
Those are much Higher than the TRO art... Which is good for everyone's knee caps!

LRMs are likely to be this thing's death, given how wide its top is. You'll want AMS on every build.
