So, with that in mind, I put together this spreadsheet to track the pilot stats for the players in my unit.
Sample BSA stats sheet: https://docs.google....#gid=1648150387
It's pretty comprehensive, and has a lot of cool little features on the individual pilot's pages such as filtering stats by particular 'Mech variant, and filtering stats by opponent. It'll also provide each player's Personal Best scores for each stat, and list the variant used in each of those games. To see all of these utilities in action, check out the sheet labeled "Atma Erebus" in that sample.
So I figured I might as well take the extra ten minutes to make a full-on Template that any other unit can use to track their players' stats.
Template: https://docs.google....#gid=1648150387
Much like my Tonnage Calculator, the Template cannot be edited unless you download a copy to your computer or save a copy to your own Google Drive. Once you do, you'll be able to use the full feature set.
Getting the Spreadsheet set up for your unit at first will only take a few minutes. For those less-familiar with Excel, here's the basics of what you'll need to do:
1. Rename the individual pilot sheets with the names of your actual players instead of the generic "Pilot #" labels. Also, when you do this, be sure to enter the pilot's name in cell A2 on each individual sheet.
2. The first four sheets that gather each players' stats rely on the names of the individual pilot sheets. After you rename an individual pilot sheet, do the following for that pilot's stats to show up correctly:
Hit "CTRL-F" to bring up the search function.
Hit the "..." button to show advanced search options
In the "Find" field, enter the generic sheet name you just changed (i.e. if you just renamed the sheet that was named Pilot 1, write Pilot 1 in the search field.
In the "Replace" field, write the new name you've given the sheet using exactly the same format. (i.e. you've renamed the Pilot 1 sheet to "Atma Erebus", write "Atma Erebus" in the Replace Field.
Check the tick-box for "Also search within formulas"
Hit the "Replace All" button
3. If you have more players in your unit than there are "generic pilot" sheets, you can make a duplicate of the sheet named "Template."
4. This sheet was designed expressly for the MCW, and all of the teams competing in the MCW are listed on the "Lists" page. If you want to use this to track other matches, against different opponents, just add the opponents unit tag below the others that are listed. It will then show up in all of the appropriate drop-down menus. If you add new opponents, to keep them alphabetized, simply highlight the entire column, right click any highlighted cell, hit the "Sort Range" button, check the "data has header row" button, and hit "sort A-Z".
And that's about it. If you have any trouble using the sheet, any questions, or have any suggestions to make it better, please let me know!
