With the HWinfo in the forefront MWO loses focus and the CPU usage/FPS drops. Look at the max usage to the right side, that is showing 73% +.

Make sure the system is using the Nvidia and not the CPU GPU, Power Management mode in Nvidia, set to Best performance.

Also set computer's power options to high performance.

What happens when set to low game settings?

Thanks for your first throughts of my setup.
@ Tarl Cabot.
The HWInfo was running on my second Display, so I just paste this program in with my bad paint skills, game was in focus.

@Goose.
Forget to tell you all that I'm running Win 8.1. But I will take a closer look at your links.

Do you even overclock!

This game loves high CPU clock speeds more than almost every thing else, especially if you run DX9.

That I7-2600k CPU you have there will overclock nicely with a good heat sink, 4GHz anyone.

I started playing this game on a Intel E8500 Core 2 Duo CPU clocked from 3GHz to 3.8GHz, this changed the game playable from playable (15 - 35 FPS) to enjoyable (20 - 45 FPS) depending on the map and situation.

A while go I upgraded to a Intel i7-3770K (3.8GHz), this really boasted performance to at least 60fps, then I over clocked that to 4.5GHz which provided a further boast (80Fps).

I have an older ATI 6970 video card, but it doesn't seem to impact performance as much as the CPU and its speed.

Check google and study some guides prior to overclocking.
