OK -- is it me, or does the walk / shuffle / limp of the King Crab look absolutely ridiculous? Nice looking mech, but the gait of this thing looks absolutely laughable. The torso bobbles around on the waist like one of those silly solar-powered bobble dolls. It lists left to right, and looks like the waist is about to break off at the waist. How any human being could target its weapon systems while moving is beyond me. You'd need to take Dramamine just to move the thing. Thankfully, it doesn't seem nearly this silly from the cockpit, and aim is indeed possible.

I know. It doesn't walk. It waddles.

Is there any chance that this could be changed to less reflect a mech that was slammed into by a dropship and is barely still functioning, and more the new elite Assault mech that it is?

Thanks! :)

there are also CLipping issues when you rotate far enough the arms are inside the legs..... the Skuld Version. half the Textures dont match color you select. 3rd color for ropes Eg. only legs and top torso change. Claws and front textures dont change color at all. and i dont know if its a common issue but my variant will not open claws at any time firing or open bay doors selection

EDIT ok it seems 2 out of 10 battles the baydoors work for me

To be honest I don't see how the walk could be anything but a waddle with legs shaped like that.

I'd keep the leg animation (what else could you do?) and reduce the torso roll just a smidge... but overall love the mech.

And really the only reason I posted was because Jammer has Manfred Mann lyrics in his sig and I just wanted to point that out and o7 it.

Pretty sure it is the Springsteen version in his sig.

According to Wikipedia, those are the Manfred Mann lyrics; Springsteen sang 'cut loose like a duece'.

I agree with the OP. Something appears to be really off with this mech's walking animation. It's hard to watch.

Perhaps this sentence says it best. It really is rather painful to watch because of the awkwardness of it.

I love the King Crab walking animations. Really shows how bad the clan mechs like the DIre Wolf and Stormcrow look, with their lack of proper ground contact.

The thing is, it lumbers like a 100 ton machine of death. I LOVE that about my crab, it's why I bought the other two, to show my appreciation for it :) my dire's, on the other hand, prance like they are afraid to get their feet wet. But, people will always be unhappy with some things.

Agreed, for a 100 ton assault mech, the walk animation looks really inefficient and derpy.

I don't mind the animation myself. It's a top heavy, wide, and squat 100ton machine.

That's not too conducive to any resemblance of an even stride.

They're so top heavy, that when destroyed, they always flip up on their head as the gyros fail. I'm waiting to see one breakdance headspin style!
