Apparently there's no warning in the mech lab that shows up if your loadout isn't maximizing your mech's tonnage, even though it will warn you about unused ammo and other things, and I think that's a little odd.

I realize that most of the time it should pretty obvious if your mech is missing some equipment for one reason or another, but personally I swap engines around between a number of mechs, and I just had a match where I forgot to equip 2 double heatsinks in my engine before starting and I was wondering "why is my mech running so hot?"

I suppose a warning like that could maybe be kind of annoying at times while building a mech or something, especially for clan mechs that can't change their engine or upgrades, so if necessary perhaps the warning would only show up after saving a loadout with tonnage missing, and perhaps only if it's missing ~0.5 tons or more.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying that not having a warning is a big deal, nor am I saying that missing a couple heatsinks for a match is much more than a silly mistake, but considering what other warnings we get for various things it would be nice to have this in the mech lab and I can't really think of much of a reason why not to have it.

A yellow flag warning for under tonnage wouldn't be a bad thing. I think we should instead have maybe 3 types of warnings. Red Octogon (like a Stop sign) for mechs that can't be legally dropped; Yellow Triangle for unused ammo, lack of ammo, or under tonnage; and Red Triangle with a thermometer for ghost heat warnings.

Not to be an ass but there *is* a big yellow bar with current tonnage/max tonnage displayed just underneath that warning symbol...

I realize that, but it's not exceedingly obvious when the yellow bar is slightly less full than usual and the tiny numbers look slightly different, but if the yellow ! pops up for some reason then that's a bit more noticeable.

You guys need to stop having a boys look for things and actually start to take notice of your surroundings. There is a bar AND the actual tonnage is listed as you loadout your machine. So you have plenty of warning already.

How do you ever survive with just a single fuel gauge on your cars? Or do you get txts to remind you to fill up as well?

Failing that, ask your wives, girlfriends or mothers for help with loadouts next time. We are good with number after all.

:P

It doesn't help that the mech lab UI is absolutely terrible in almost every way.

Yesterday I was modifying a Stormcrow on the fly and didn't notice I was under tonnage until one of the guys viewing my livestream pointed it out. Usually I do the build in Smurfy before I put it together in the mechlab, and don't have issues.
