Hello all! I'm not entirely sure if this is the correct forum for this, but here goes:

I represent The Brethren Pirate Merc Corps. We are interested in hosting some PGI pilots next week for a night of drops! The Brethren are a relaxed, casual Unit, and our interest in hosting these drops is to get to know our Devs a bit better and to provide a relaxing evening of fun!

We recognize that the Devs probably won't be able to discuss game elements and upcoming features. That is not the focus of the event; we just want to run some matches and have a blast! We promise no team kills or harassment of any type. Any PGI pilots who join us will be treated as members of The Brethren and will have access to our TeamSpeak server.

We could run Public or Private matches in any game mode and map.

If anyone from PGI is interested, feel free to contact me. We do not have a set date or time yet. Most of our active pilots are online between 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM, EDT each weeknight and weekend. We are quite flexible and would be willing to consider any day next week or the following.

Our website is here: http://brethrenmwo.enjin.com/

Thanks all! I think this could be a lot of fun and a very successful event! :)

P.S. - To All Readers:

Please note that this is an invitation from The Brethren to PGI and that we are not including the general public at this time. Thank you for your understanding. :)

If this isn't a general public invitation, why not do something radical like...pm someone from pgi.

Mainly because I don't really know anyone from PGI and am not sure who to PM. I thought that a general shout-out may be the next best thing. :)

Yeaaaaah, that's butshill. You figured if you do it in a very public way they won't be able to refuse.

Well hello there! Nice of you to check your civility at the door. <_<

I've never actually attempted to contact PGI with something like this before and wasn't entirely sure how to go about it. I figured that there were probably a lot of people PM'ing PGI all during the day, and assumed that any PM I sent may get lost in the shuffle. Since PGI tracks the forums, a forum post seemed the way to go.

Cool idea! We need to see more devs in the live game like it used to be. Best of luck getting a few to drop with you guys!

This thread...

I take it you either didn't even attempt to find a way to contact PGI (of which there are many and obvious ones) and made this thread out of sheer laziness, or Lefty was correct and you made this thread as some sort of self fellating call out...

So much hate...

The only two ways I know of for contacting PGI about this kind of topic is through the forums and PMs. I have done both and am simply waiting to see if they reply.

If you don't have anything constructive to add to this thread, then please refrain from trolling it.

I don't wanna be a naysayer but..... they won't refuse but I imagine this will just be overlooked....

BUT, good luck with your event!

It may be, but it doesn't hurt to try, right?

As High Captain of the Brethren, let me just say we actually do have an open door policy for any player with POSITIVE attitudes to come to our teamspeak and drop with us. We have many friends and allies within many of the factions as we represent a Periphery Pirate unit that has yet to be acknowledge as a sovereign entity and so must play as Mercs. We don't require those players to join, and we don't care if you're from another unit, we just appreciate fun and supportive players who like dropping with our members.

As for contacting PGI, several of our members thought it may help to show that pirate units like ourselves and Outlaw Buccaneers are large and stable and here to stay, that we are organized, and would very much like to have a pirate status for faction selection. By dropping with our battalions, our dedication and loyalty to the pirate way may be shown, and as many have found, that the Brethren [TBRN] can hold their own in inner sphere battles.

I am sorry if others see this as a negative thing to try and have our status known, but I point out the outcry from the clanners when they had to select a house instead of a clan. The pirates have a firm basis in lore from the very first tabletop edition, and should be acknowledged, as have the other factions of the game. But as is in every game, there will be some trolls and players with nothing better to do than comment negatively, which just reinforced why we established the Brethren in the first place, so casual players can have a place to play without this kind of involvement on an everyday basis. If my fellow Brethren posted this thread in the wrong place, I apologize and PGI can most assuredly move it to the correct location.

Otherwise, I approve of this invitation, and invite any PGI or player who wants join us for an evening of drops to visit and see what we are about out here on "The Rack". Take all you can, give nothing back!

Be sure to ask Taylor Swift to prom while you're at it.

Ick

I really don't like how she infiltrated Country music. So glad that the same out of the closet as Pop now.

My poor, poor Country music!

I play the game almost every day. Sometimes it's solo, sometimes in groups. Maybe one day I'll join your for a few drops. You can always PM me to try and set something up.

That sounds great! I personally have finals this week and won't be on again until this weekend (Thus my focus on next week  ). I'll send you a friend invite and we can try to set something up. :)

I'll send you a PM with our TeamSpeak info too. Feel free to drop by anytime if you feel like it! We're pretty relaxed and aren't a hardcore Unit or anything like that.

ohhhh damn... on well...

I used to see a few PGI players with those tags play back in the day.... but they get so many questions or mass trolling that you almost never see them play with PGI tags anymore...

I'm almost positive every single developer here plays anonymous or with a 2nd account now... just so they can enjoy the game without all the BS

Yeah, that was one of the ideas behind the invitation. We wanted to give them a chance to drop with some friends so that they wouldn't have to deal with the junk.
