It'd be awesome if either of you had some kind of come-back to my OP.

Ok, Ok I know better than to feed the troll but this is actually true fact. And its something that everybody should remember especially you competitive players who feel like Vassago here.
TLDR: MWO doesn't need you....but you need us.

The players above are needed, and they're a direct result of there being a good game to play in the first place.
Cream rises to the top.
Your whole notion that the top is expendable is ridiculous. The hardcore elite write the guides, they mine the data, they make tools, maintain tools, resources, fansites, guildes, teamspeaks, reddits... They're called 'core' for a reason.
Edit: someone will come in here with another BOLD claim to prove me wrong. Alright. So imagine if smurfy closed his site tomorrow. What would you do then?

the top is not the "core". and guides? those come form good gamers, not the top elite ones.
you know, stalin, napoleon and {Godwin's Law} were ones top people in their "community". good things came form them, right?
The top elite is more than often someone who detsroys his own surrounding by trying to achive nothing else than their own good. The most of them have so epic tips like: "l2p baddie", instead of truly taking some tome showing a newbie how the game works, because that consumes time and they better invets that in tryharding to keep their little skill edge > making MWO a more funny place. The top elite is not the Core.

So my factual picture from 2012, made as a response to PGI saying they'd have elo, and CW would eventually be super hardcore, is worthy of reporting because...reasons?
You sound pretty butthurt. This entire day has been a reminder of when we got 8 manz to me. Most of the super salty people in this thread won't even be in CW come january, for all the reasons I listed.
Let me also add that it feels really good that something I made in 2012 not only holds true in the very final days of 2014, but will hold true until the game dies, and that terms I invented in that same picture are part of general MWO lingo.
The Supreme Butthurt Commander of the MWO Butthurt Army calling someone butthurt made me chuckle.
Vassgago speaks therefore it must be true! He is MWO forum famous, afterall.

Vass the top... what 5-10% are ...NEEDED? So the game could not be sustained without 90% of the population?

I make an OP.
I use an ancient picture.
I post what's really going on, as I have multiple times before.
It's a very tongue-in-cheek post, as it so often is.
I've been posting like this for years. Literally years.
Nowhere did I insult playerbase portion X, or say that the game would be better without them. You all did that, and keep doing it.
Nowhere have I made personal attacks. Most of you, however, love doing that to me.
I believe I have not done any name-calling. I've seen very little of it from any of you, but we'll see how long that lasts.
As so often happens, when something new arrives, and I remind the playerbase at large what's going on, why they get the results they get, and what to expect, people make up their own little stories. They don't read what I type, or what others type, either, for that matter. It's all strictly impulse and imagination. You make it up as you go.
>oh my god, he's calling bad players bad! That must mean he wants all the casuals gone from the game! BETTER INSULT HIM AND MAKE PICTURES OF ALL THE ELITE PLAYERS WE DON'T NEED!!!!!!!!!
>b-b-but it's a troll post. Troll. Troll king. Troll LORD.
Games need casuals, and they need hardcore. Games, and their communties, are a lot more complicated than many give them credit for. Only a foolish person would declare that we need to get rid of X, Y, or Z, when it should be obvious to everybody that all of them are needed for a good gaming experience. This includes bads, who are easy farming for virtually everybody.
Now, whenever I respond to one of these baseless, not-reading posts, I'm essentially feeding the flame. Rather than explain, I'm adding to it, and then more people start making up more crazy claims that make no sense, and I eventually have to post a lengthy explanation, like this one.
This PSA is strictly about how bad players will have to get good, or they're not gonna have a fun time in our new community warfare. Fact. There are also several layers of player skill in this game, as outlined in that ancient picture. Some people are bad, some are good, but most are average.
The biting commentary is aimed at players who, despite common sense wisdom, refuse to listen, and insist on dragging XL king crabs out, machinegun hunchbacks, XL atlases full of LRMs, and all manners of other such monstrosities that we've all been mocking for the better part of three years now. There's also, as you may have noticed, quite a few KNOWN QUALITIES who keep chanting ancient mantras like 'it works for me,' or 'but I'm having fun.'
Fun and games are really one and the same. If you're not having fun, you're not gonna play the game. It's a huge fallacy to respond to criticism with 'but I'm having fun.' If you were in a better mech/had a better army/won more/didn't bring the worst guns in the game/learned to aim/stopped blaming your lack of success on PGI's hit detection, you'd probably have even more fun! Obvious, right? Right. So those who are (at the time) blessed with common sense don't use that as an argument - a shield, rather - to ward against criticism.
Lastly, it doesn't matter if you're 'having fun.' It doesn't matter if 'it works' for you. It doesn't matter what you may or may not think of the comp side of MWO, or comp players, period. None of that has any bearing on my initial OP, or the discussion in this thread. Everybody's got opinions, but here we're dealing with straight up facts. Proven lessons from the before times. I initially made this thread in response to what was at the time a large number of posts and threads about how waah, it's hard! My mechs keep losing! I did so without insulting any part of the playerbase, calling any part expendable, or using any forms of personal attacks on any player, group, or fellow forumwarrior.
Thank you for reading.

No, you post a troll thread with a bunch of sarcastic, pointless, and incorrect assumptions trying to be "cute"
Then you got called out on it by just about everyone who saw it. Now you're trying to be a bit more constructive in the hopes that you can say "See? I'm being constructive"
Troll thread is troll thread. You should have posted a constructive post in the first place. You are being called out for trolling because that's what you did.

No one is as good as they think they are.
And the fact is, that Vassago is still our mile post for sanity.
That man is unmovable. He's never a downer, never giddy, not a fanboy, just objective, and comes with the truth. Moving him is like moving a mountain. He's a fixture as permanent as the grand canyon.
He is us. We are him.

That's for the tiny maps , and the situations that are very easy to understand what to do, where to go, where is better to position, where help is needed, etc.
Also the puggiest of all can understand "focus fire" when the maps are made in that way, and what kind of mech to bring

It's interesting and fun.

I've said several times if he would drop the trolling he has some very good ideas to help improve MWO. The problem is they get lost in his snark and trolling.
