Soo, this has been going on for a long time.. I can log into the game server, customize my mech and everything, go to training grounds.. but when I try to find an actual mech, it stays stuck at connecting with a black screen for a while before it sets me back to the Mechlab with the error: Connection Error: Disconnected from game server.
I have the MWO ports forwarded, have tried to repair the client, tried different connections.. nothing is working.
Help, anyone? I've sent a ticket to support, but it's pretty slow.

Check your computer out for viruses and or Root kits/ Malware. My client used to take FOREVER to load, then I scanned my computer with a few free and full Virus and Malware app scanners, and found them hiding in a few files that slowed down all processes.

Eh, I don't load at all though. The mechlab loads at regular speed, it's just I can't connect to a match.. ever.

That's what I'm saying, it could be a virus that messes with your connection...

Hm, I ran AVG and it did pick up a few minor things, but it hasn't changed anything. :(

Hmm.... check your connection. It could be that it probably times out because of too many ports open...?

i had the same problem for several days, i´ve tried everything.

The only thing that worked for me was:

1) Uninstall the game.
2) clean windows registry (by hand) search everything you can think about the game (mechwarrior, piranha, pgi, etc)
3) you can use now ccleaner or other soft (maybe using ccleaner without hand cleaning works too)
4) re install the game, if possible in another folder, or another drive, or both.
5) download a fresh installer, install (yes... the whole game, it sucks i know...)
6) play!

right now, sometimes i open the launcher and ask me to patch, just close it and try again as many times as necesary. This could be related to ADMINISTRATOR RIGHTS, open the game as administrator.

one you pass the patch and you try to login, it may tell you that theres a new version, that you have to close and open the patcher again, just close and open again. (this is also related to admin rights)

i hope this works for you, and sorry about my english, its not so good. see you in the battlefield!

I do have an Intel HD 4000, but I tried the stickied post regarding it and nothing changed. I was able to run the game at medium before. :\

Try running it at low, and let me know what happens. If it still disconnects you, check your ports. Too many open can lead to a overload on a ping connection, causing it to crash and disconnect you...

Changing it to low doesn't do anything... How would I go about checking which ports need to stay open and which I can close?

I also have this problem. The game will load into the mechlab just fine, everything in there works normally, back end will load everything properly (like an MC purchase on the website will update in game while its running). When I go to launch a match, it will search, then it will find a match like normal. THEN, this is where the problem occurs, it will show the black screen saying "connecting.." and will sit there and then fail out back to the mech lab saying "Disconnected from game server." Now, I can hit rejoin and it will do the exact same thing (disconnected from game server) four or five times then finally load into the game normally, as in the map screen shows up then the cockpit loads. Now another issue, once joined to the match, is I have no hud, I have to disconnect then reconnect (fortunately 19/20 times I don't experience the disconnected from game server message when reconnecting to get my HUD back). Now, this will usually get worse when I'm in a group, as in instead of every so often in the pug queue, it happens almost twice as often while grouped.

This has only started within the past few months, I can't pin down an exact time frame of when it started but it was just recently. I'm going to throw another ticket into the support queue to give them another case to maybe make it a bit higher priority. I've seen another thread somewhere around here where they're gathering tracert's from people to see if they can pin down network issues outside their own network. I'd link it but I'm at work and break is over, suffice it to say, its in my post history if you want to look through that and find the particular thread.

1. Check for pando media booster. uninstall it if you find it.
2. Disable firewalls if any (just for testing)
3. disable any antivirus (just for testing)
4.make sure nothing is uploading in the background, i had Microsoft one drive uploading garbage from my documents while i was playing, that was causing issues (windows 8 or 8.1 only)
5. it could be releated to your "profile" on the mechwarrior servers.

post your omicron.log and let us look at it. also create a new free account and see if you can login and play with different account.

1. Not installed.
2. Not affecting it
3. Also not affecting (av/firewall suite)
4. Have windows vista x64 and a 6mb/s upload capacity.
5. Cleaned that every so often.
At work at the moment so I can't post the log, I'll drop it in here later when I get home.

Greetings all,

Just to check, when you installed the game again.
- Did you set the installer to Admin level authority?
- It's required to allow files to be written into the windows folder and set configurations for the game and windows.

Not just the game start exe needs to be at admin level, but the installer also.

- As a note, you'd be better off with Win7 64bit than vista. Win7 64 is more like a fixed Xp or vista.

Just some info,
9erRed

I've not had issues with Vista over the years so I felt no need to replace it even now. Really the only reason I will upgrade the OS is when it reaches end of life like XP did early this year. Anyway, I run with UAC disabled and (knowingly) with an admin account so that has no bearing on MWO.

After running everything I can think of on my end to diagnose this issue, I can state with certainty that it mostly happens in USA prime time hours (8-12pm -5GMT in my case since I live in the eastern USA) and outside of that I rarely have issue. I may have missed it in the news somewhere but I know they changed data centers and around the time they did is when I started having game server connectivity issues.

Use flyvpn's trial and see if using the vpn connection allows you to drop into a match. If it does, it is most likely a connection issue.

I haven't been able to drop into a match since Nov 21 other than insanely early in the morning until about 8am, then it goes kaput for the rest of the day.

Still waiting on support to come up with a solution or confirmation that it is something my ISP needs to deal with.

I'm beginning to wonder if this is an issue with the data center they moved the servers into. Ever since then, I've had problems connecting to matches but not to the mech lab. The other day I had to hit rejoin several times before I could get into a match, I was in a king crab to try it out and while I was trying to join the match one of my team mates decided to TK me. I load into the match to find I've been killed by a friendly. That was a huge frustration and one hell of an ******** team mate. I pretty much gave up on getting into matches this past tuesday night, whatever the problem is, when a lot of people are playing MWO, I can't get into matches very easily.
