We do temp-tag solo jaguars each evening so they can group easier and then release them from the unit as they are not actual applicants, once the evening of drops ends.
But it is unlikely that units would, even superficially, subborn themselves to even a figurehead unit. Too many differences in outlook on the game, playstyles, lore, play to win attitudes, casual vs comp players and disparate personalities.

Yeah 1 mega unit would be nice, formed from A-teams and B-teams, but everyone should accept on that which is pretty much impossible so lets do step by step to get our units closer to eachothers

I favor this idea.
I chose permanent Smoke Jaguar allegiance.
I have no Unit and have never been a Smoke Jaguar before CW Phase 2.
I am a neutral party I would be willing to stand up a non-Political Overarching Unit, if sufficient interest exists.
I Solo drop for more than 5-6 hours a day, and today found myself defending our sister Clans more than anything else... though the earlier fights to win Turtle Bay were a supremely enjoyable first wave effort.

The single biggest hurdle would be Individual ego and pride (something no Smoke Jaguar is in short supply of!)
But on the other hand... who among us would not like to have a clearinghouse from which to round out TeamSpeak-empowered 12-mans whenever we would want to?
There are any number of my fellow Solo Smoke Jaguars that if the Clan's leadership adopted/actively-advocated for an Overarching, Non-Political Unit in order to better coordinate the formation of 12-mans, might just join a collective effort rather than drift away to our sister Clans.
But IMHO it would need to be a near Clan-wide effort to (for a time) shed Unit Tags in support of a clan-wide gaming advantage.
Such an overarching melding of our Clan could also become a unique recruiting and retention tool that just might appeal to a significant subset of Mercenaries and Lone Wolves.

It is not a panacea, but it is a contributing factor when recruiting Individual gamers and Units.

42nd doesn't have TS, we use Mumble\murmur.
VRF could we get a channel hangout on your TS server?
Sprouticous that is great idea.
Do you want to continue what you started?
I can forward you the 42nd information.
My worry with a thread announcing drops etc it will become so large that people will start skimming and miss important information.
I would personally suggest Announcement threads Sticked and then removed.
I am in full support of an announcement but preparations being done on TS.
In Arma II and III there is officer channels in TS and sub channels. Is that how you are running the TS?
That way everyone is not talking over everyone else.
Galaxy Commander>Colonels>Captains would issue orders to point commanders.
And MechWarriors would only talk among their star and their point commander.
Keep up the great ideas.

Strana Mechty is already available and in use by some units for this. It is the Clan Hub teamspeak, with 512 slots and free hosting to Clan units.
Feel free to use it either as a hosting site for yourself, an alternate site for your crew and/or the public coordination rooms that are already in use by multiple CSJ affiliated players and units.

Nice to see a Merc group throw their lot in with us.
(can't roleplay what a Clan warrior feels about Mercs, Pirates or Traders...But I bet you get the idea.)

Well, the wolf dragoons are merc's but they were sent in as spy's from the clans. Merc groups could fit in as clan spy's while role playing.

We will be in force tonight (SA)! We aim to take it and keep it for the Turtles!
