Special Feature Report – The Clan Invasion

A new enemy has appeared, mysterious invaders known as the clans. Powerful and ruthless they strike like lightning, attacking every sector at once.

The first signs appeared from beyond the periphery. Emergency broadcasts from Stars End signalled that the Greater Valkyrate Pirate Kingdom had been overrun almost overnight. Survivors told wild tales of advanced mech technology and strangely tattooed warriors who spoke of unknown rituals. They called themselves the clans and they quickly overran the periphery states to arrive at the borders of the Inner Sphere.

Several Clans are known to exist and appear to be competing in their invasion of the Inner Sphere. Clan Jade Falcon has been the most successful, but every clan has made remarkable progress. The Great Houses of Steiner, Kurita, and Raselhague all have worlds that have come under heavy attack.

Clan mechs are known to have loadouts that leverage advanced range and unprecedented damage per second capabilities. Extreme caution is advised when engaging these forces. When attacking it is recommended to maintain a minimum 3-1 advantage in numbers to focus fire and ensure a successful outcome. Burst fire alpha blasts and engaging at close ranges have shown some effectiveness against clan mechs as they inevitably overheat in extended encounters.

Clan mechwarriors have been genetically bred for combat. Numerous first-hand accounts tell us that they arrogantly challenge IS pilots and taunt defeated companies with ggclose. They wear tattoos that are a form of bionic implants and it provides them with enhanced imaging through certain exploits to the FOV, removal of the grain on the cockpit glass and ability to see through badly textured rocks/walls. Long term neurological effects of EI use are not known at this time, but clearly substantial.

We have learned much from those early days of confusion. Yet their ultimate goal remains unknown. What is known is that they will be stopped. Even if ancient enemies must reunite to take back our galaxy.

Nevermind, I think i'm lost in this CW thing... I'll keep focused in the Clans front anyway...

Piggy closed us down. I think all clans are stuck only able to attack 1 IS world a day at the moment. Going to take a while to make any real progress.

It isn't one per day, but one per bordered faction per day. Meaning Wolf and Ghost Bear can attack 2 Inner Sphere factions per day because they are both on the line between FRR/Steiner or FRR/Draconis Combine.

Ya, they closed our lane to Kurita, Constance was a dead end. Our only attack is against New Bergen FRR, unless we want to attack CW or CSJ.

Huh, that is weird I thought I saw somewhere official that they said specifically that every faction border will have one disputer world per turn. Wonder why they didn't light one up for GB with Kurita.

Personally, I disagree with that idea. I think each faction should have 3 worlds attack-able and 3 defend-able that way it does not create unfair advantages.

Jade Falcon can attack Romulus and Buttler if I'm not mistaken... I think I defended Romulus today against Jade Falcon forces...

Steiner isn't garbage, some pilots are and I think defense is buggy 'cause in my play time we had like 3 planets with 11 win against Kurita, Davion and Marik and in the next day we lost our planets with 1 or 3 attackers wins... I gave up to fully understand how CW works, for now I'll only focus in the Clan front... I'm more worried of that Jade Falcon spear...The rest the true Steiners that take care of.

Catalina, awesome job staying on top of CW news from day 1. I some how missed getting a screen cap of day 4, but thankfully you had it. Thank You.
