The wait times are ridiculous (between 5 and 20 minutes for me). Maybe even longer, I cancelled after 20 minutes.

But the new game mode is awesome. Haven´t had so much fun playing MWO in a long time.

Not exactly true. Sure you have to sign up for at least a short term contract with someone but even lone wolves need to get paid, right?

So far I have no problems qualifying for matches. My problem is that my work schedule is messing with my play time so I'm limited. I don't know if I'll get 10 matches in.

Glad I'm not alone in the endless queue.

Another bummer is the lack of a zoom function on the keyboard. I use a marble mouse without a scroll wheel, so I can't zoom into the planets to make easy selections.
Changing the keyboard binding to zoom doesn't work either!

Nope. Not working as well. 3 hours online, just entered my second lobby for a match.

Ok, it s a beta and you did a nice job.

But this challenge is broken. Hours lost waiting for a game.
Fix that quickly. Hard to find a match now, so people will give up and CW will slowly die.

PS: you give nice Cbill rewards, useful because we all pay much for more modules...
As challenge doesn't work, no Cbills to refill our purse^^
->Standard games to get a bit of money.

PS2: 30 min waiting...and free win, no opponents. So no points for challenge, almost no Cbills^^
What s the point to have a game with only one team?

The wait times might be shorter if people from different units were able to form 12man groups as long as they were in the same Faction.
Only being able to form groups with people from your own unit is imo holding back the MM.
If PGI allowed the player base to make the groups regardless of unit ties it would probably help the MM a lot.
There are many many player made units that either can't get 12 ppl together online at the same time or just don't have 12ppl for a drop. allow smaller units from the same factions to be able to group together. i know that's supposed to be the job of the matchmaker but if it were an option for players to do it surely would help.
Any thoughts on this idea?
I am atm playing with friends who are in the same faction but belong to a different unit and we are trying to sync drop, and my idea would make this unnecessary.

least for me, so far the team has to win to get a match score of 80 or the mech losses have to be pretty close.

2 points so far out of 4 rounds.

I agree, people aligned to a faction need a way to create quick groups that ONLY people in a conrtact with the same faction can easily see, join, and play together. No friending needed, no inviting people, just 12 folks of the same house that want to fight for their house. Let them group or fill in the spaces of the bigger team groups as needed.

Staying on the same planet seems to really speed up wait times. I'm on my third match on Wing with just minutes of wait time between the first and second and second and third

Quitting CW for now. Only have a limited amount of time, and out of the three hours I had today I only managed to drop twice. This is a self-energizing effect for sure. Nice idea, badly implemented. Back to PUGing.

its not badly implemented. CW was always a thing for organized groups not for solo players.
its something for competitive players and always announced as such. get a group.

maybe the playerbase is currently not big enough for CW at some timezones but this negativity in a BETA state is plain wrong.

As i mentioned in an above post in this thread, getting a group would be a lot simpler if the only restriction was belonging to the same faction and not dependant on being in the same unit.
It would be so easy using Comstar to find a 12man in the same way as the player base has done for all the previous challenges.

Alltogether CW beta is a huge step in the right direction;

Please adress the issues:

1. Enable players to SEE how many others are currently queued for a planet, that would probably bring them together MUCH faster. Right now you can wait and wait and dont know if you are the only one there or if there are only a few players missing. The time it takes to find a match is way to long.
2. I dont know how to adress this but having a random 12-man Group of IS matched against a 12-man premade clan of very good players and have the IS attack (despite it was a defense assingment -> "counterattack") is just nonsense. Nobody in their right minds would carry out such an attack. I had two such maches where i waited 40 mins to get in only to be ripped appart by a dug in 12-man clan team in less then 10 minutes (score was 32 to 4 !!!!!). On the cold map (forgot the name) you are just ducks for the longer range clan weapons, and when IS mechs are in range half are already dead, even the turrets are tough obstacles. Such games are a waste of time.
And i disagree with the "CW is only for Groups" view - you wont get enough players if you exclude solo players.
3. Spawn-point camping is possible, the dropships are way to weak. On the other hand stronger dropships would boost the advantage of the defending side even more.
4. Given the long wait times and (my opinion) unbalanced settings the Challange is so time-consuming that reaching tier 2 would cost me an entire day; thats too much....

Please keep up the work and make CW into something great.

So, is or isn't tis completely impossible to participate in as a Lone Wolf? I read something about taking a cobntract, but I can't find any such option. IF being a Lone Wolf means "you can't do anything", why have it as a faction option at all? I can only wish that I had the problem of waiting for an hour to get a CW match. So far, I cannot prove they exist. For all I know, this entire thread could be an elaborate prank put together by PGI.

OK guys, ya got me! Can I have some C-bills now?
