If you're talking about the video which I know you shouldn't really be talking about because it's the video that we shouldn't be talking about.....then I think what happened there is they were spawning at the start of the battle and like most spawns, especially in betas, things aren't solid immediately.
No clipping between mechs?

It's threads like this that are the reason why leaked videos of betas are a bad idea.

While I would debate that a game 5 weeks from release is past 'early beta',
It is not 5 weeks from release ... its 5 weeks from Beta 2
and 8 weeks from open beta. Which I know is basically release but still.
Full release .... no one has said ... maybe with community warfare?

Is this really the case? I saw a ... gameplay video ... and a friendly mech just totally went through the players mech from behind.
I think this is quit a terrible idea if this is the case, its not realistic at all and if you can just run straight through other mechs there is quite a big hit to strategy.

When was this video made. I want to see a date and time stamp on this. This could be day 1 video for all anyone knows. I know I keep saying this, but that because it's true.

I wouldn't normally say anything, but as others have said it is a simple mechanic for getting the game started quickly and smoothly. Later if you notice in that video the Jenner collides with a Commando (on the enemy team) and knocks it over.
Unfinished games are unfinished! That kinda goes without saying except you saw that part you weren't supposed to see and completely overreacted.
