In my gaming experience, you go two types of "Comp" players.
Those who game the mechanics, and get the win anyway possible (Back in my old Street Fighter II tourney days, those were usually the Chun Li and Vega players, doing the undefendable moves considered "cheap" by the playerbase)
And the REAL pros, who could take the "worst" character, and win with it. The guys who would take E Honda or Dhalsim and school the Cheeze-Li players.
So far, I haven't seen many of the second category in this game. Tons of the first. Not sure what there is to feel good about winning by exploiting broken mechanics, but whatever strokes their epeen, I suppose.
Maybe it's a generational thing. For most kids in my day, the harder it was to achieve, the more it was to be desired. But even then, then Meta Cheeze crowd was always on the periphery. Now it just seems to be the mainstream.
