Can Non Unit Faction Loyalists Group Together For Drops?

If me and another guy are both Kurita loyalists but not in a unit, can we make a group and drop together in CW?

Only Units can make groups and the group can only contain members of their unit.

Unit here formed a group of 3 and we all clicked the defend button, however we dropped into 3 separate games.
How do we do a group launch together?

Group readies up, then the leader and only the group leader clicks launch, either attack or defend.
