Hi All,

My experiences is CW is great fun IF you can get a drop going... and after waiting for 45+ minutes with my unit to only drop onto a map with no defenders (happened twice this morning) I have to say I'm underwhelmed with the matchmaking as it is.

While I don't pretend to understand all the nuances yet, it seems some kind of "fast launch" option should be available that IS NOT PLANET SPECIFIC (but still within the limits of your faction's interests/alliances).

Because even when I hit the pop-up (I was unit leader) for planet so and so needing defenders/attackers we still waited for over 15 min and then dropped against no defenders(??). Boring!

So, maybe PGI can have the option for the match-maker do more of a random draw from available units/PUGs and put us together on whichever "hot" planet needs us, instead of all of us trying to coordinate and choose a planet? So you can choose regular planet specific launch (longer wait times) or "hot launch" to get a faster game.

Any thoughts?

Managing to find a game?

But seriously. I have been logged on for three hours now, and in that time I have gotten two game, both with no opposition. This is just a waste of time for me.

Now before I start, I know fully and understand that CW is currently in its beta phase. I know what that entails and means. Just wanted to get that out there first.

Now:

I honestly would like to see some kind of "hot launch" option. Just like something that would set you into a group that needs players, whether it's attacking or defending, no regards to the planet. Though my idea is a little simplistic.

I really think some kind of population indicator or something would help too. Something to show how many people are on a planet. Like which planets are hot and which are cold. Not just this current system that just goes "so and so planet needs defenders/attackers".

I do understand that it's "community" warfare, and there is an expectation that some players are playing with others in an organized group, but not everyone is. Also, not everyone is playing in a large group. And I do understand that players like me that play solo a lot are going to be hurting a little for finding a group in CW, but right now it's just . . . mawh.

Right now, the wait times are just borderline painful if you are in a small group or soloing. I haven't tried going out in a larger group, yet.

And...you know, this is going to sound damnable, but what if the que up for CW fights was also in the "Play now" launch options? Idk, just thinking.

There are already a dozen threads just like this, it's not like you're the only one. It's probably best to consolidate stuff like this instead of making new threads every time the same thing that's happening to thousands of other people, happens to you.

I'm thinking that it would be quite helpful if they showed all the players queuing up for the match in real time, so that you had an idea if there were players coming in, or if it's just an empty room. Further, if mousing over a match could show how full a match was getting.

I really don't mind which map I'm dropping on right now, but when it actually becomes important and we're playing for keeps, I'm going to want to be sure that I'm playing strategically, rather than just bashing heads with a bunch of randoms. I've got to do my part to keep those combine borders safe.

We 'played' for 3 and a half hour last night. Managed 4 drops.

Most of us ended up playing king of fighters or EVE while we were waiting for the CW matches to start.

It helps to have a handheld or something you can play on while you wait. Alt-tabbing seems to cause the client to crash if you do it too much.
