Will the drop ships ever come with some sort of, oh, I dunno... defensive guns. or something?

There is no problem.

If nearly all are dead and the enemy is spawn camping. The game is alrdy lost. If you want to do something against it. Collect all Players to one big Drop and nail them.

And Dropships are equipt with LL and they hurt really.

Drop ships have Large and Medium lasers on them.

That said though it is possible for a team to camp a drop ship site and focus down the couple mechs it drops pretty easily. Not sure how long it is viable to actually 'camp' it though.

In almost every match I played yesterday, towards the end I had the pleasure of watching someone from the OPFOR, my team and once, even myself get paisted by an incoming dropship.

So, not entirely sure WTF you're talking about.

Well since he's clearly not even played the mode yet, he should be complaining about it.

I played it.. Yeah they did it at the end of the match.. but that's still damage, kills, assists, etc. that you miss out on. Plus, it's REALLY aggravating. It's sort of the ultimate insult to your team... It's a "You're team is sooo bad, you don't even get to use your remaining mechs." I think more of the problem is that the attacking dropzone is highly non-optimal. It's in a field where you can get shot at out of the dropship's range. It should have some cover to prevent people from spawnkilling without getting right up near the dropship.

yes drop ships fire and protect you. Yes it hurts when the drop ship shoots you lol. BUT it is very possible for the enemy to still spawn camp and focus on you as you are being dropped by the drop ship. I have seen it and have been a part of it. Some times you get lucky and the Drop Ships dont fire at you all that much and other times, your lucky if you can get out of their line of fire fast enough lol.

@Mallad
So in other words, they aren't consistently deadly. Which is an issue.

I heard Lords were keeping themselves entertained by trying to kill enemy Mechs before they touched the ground.

"Pull!"
