ME ME ME!

My vote is for a 'We got CRABS!' mech pack and release the Crab and King Crab together after launch.

I see ComStar / Star League mechs potentially being an add on later. Maybe when they roll in the Clans.

We will have some Star League / lost tech at launch...Gauss, ERPPC, LB10X, Ultra5...

Well, canon-wise, the Draconis Combine has been playing with the Comstar level toys since 3039 (a decade before game launch), with some of that filtering about through the usual methods of salvage and reverse engineering. While it's far from common, all the big powers do have some of this stuff laying around as is seen with things like Gauss rifles being in the initial release.

Yeah. But it's hardly like they could just NOT have such mech trademark weapon systems at launch.

But what about having like the mechs themselves. Such as one of my favorite the hussar. Or a highlander. I'd really enjoy the chance to pilot either.

Nice metaphors.

Well, they could have both of those chassis anyway. Both of them had a lower-tech Succession Wars era model.

True. But I think an authentic star league model would neat. That ER heavy laser and a better Comm system would make
mY hussar the best scout. Maybe it'd be able to kelp the enemy in its range at greater range and for longer times.

it'd be neat, but I doubt it would be as effective as you seem to think. If we got the ER lasers, so does everyone else, and further, the clan stuff is simply better, so your ER Lg Laser would be inferior to the C/ER Lg. Laser. I don't think that the lost tech comms got recovered though.

Way to kill my hopes there man. Haha nah. I know your right. But regardless off armament, I still want a hussar.

It is a nice machine. I'm partial to the Jenner myself, though

I don't see why there wouldn't be some star league tech at launch. The GDL found the Helm Memory Core in 3028 and spread it throughout the IS. By 3049 it would have to be out there.

There's going to be, if nothing else, the Mechlab video showed the Gauss Rifle, which is quintessential Star Leauge tech, I believe there was a listing somewhere of some of the other stuff that's going to be in at launch too.

I do not see why the comstar/star league tech should not be available. While it may be rare or expensive at this time, it did exist in some form. So I say make it available, but make it expensive to buy and maintain. So while you can pilot the standard mechs for much less, if you are willing to pony up the dough you can use more expensive mechs.

If it fits the timeline, I see no reason not to have StarLeague technology.

Given how they play the timeline, there's almost no limit as to what the devs can do with this game as long as funding stays strong.
