Have they announced the Variants? When will they be available for cbills? The loyalty crab will be great, but only so far if I can't level up two others...

They are adding in all 3 variants but only for MC. the reward one is given free but you have to buy the others with MC.
On January 20th they will be available for c-bills.

However Dec 16th is the announced release.
I do got a bit of a bug up my rear over the fact we have to wait an entire mouth before we can buy C-bill versions of the KC. Serious blatant, greedy, money grab on PGI's part with this decision. I mean I have no issues pickup up Pre-order packs for real cash because there is just so much value added to the package, however no way in hell I am going to drop $30 MC each on standard variants of the King Crab. Really sucks that after about 20 matches (to unlock basics) my "Gift" gets to sit unused for a month because PGI is too greedy to just release them for C-bills on the 16th..

You eventually need 57,000 xps for each variant, so why let it sit? Just keep playing it if you really like it, that way you can unlock it straight to the Master slot as soon as the c-bill variants drop (and you unlock basics for them).

What are you talking about? It follows suite with just about ALL of the pre-order packages for Clan and IS so far. Every 2 weeks for Wave 1, a new mech would release for MC and the CBills would follow a month later.
Also, as EVERYONE is saying, they're releasing 3 variants.

See to me it's not greedy it's smart. There are people who will plunk down the cash for on the day they drop for whatever reason and smart folks will just wait the 30 days and get them for nothing. I'm all for separating foolish impatient people from their money in the name of keeping the game from degenerating to P2W. If they sell these things to the impatient, cosmetics and non P2W heroes I prefer that to selling power.

I'm inclined to agree. This is the standard practice for all mech releases. It's released for MC first, then a month later for c-bills. It's reasonable to me. 1 month isn't that big a deal. The Clan Wave 1 releases on the other hand forced us to wait almost 5 months for the Timber Wolf.
