Can we suggest custom weapons? No?

Pfft! Well here is one anyway, because I am posting on the Intertubes, thus I am special, so Dev's listen to MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Star Smasher Grand Cannon
Heat
20
Damage 30
Short Range 1-7
Medium Range 8-15
Long Range 16-22
Critical Slots 12
Cost (unloaded) 1,500,000

Fires every other round. Critical slot destroyed = 30 point explosion in that area.

I did have more detail on the tech source book, that I wrote, but my players laughed at me and thus I was forever shamed as a Battletech nerd. :)

So basically what you are saying is you want a weapon that produces a lot of heat, does an enormous amount of damage, could one shot pretty much every light mech and even some medium mechs, has the range of a gauss rifle, and is not really defined as being an ammo weapon or energy weapon. How is this better than what's been made already? What is the point of it?

Because apparently what a Gauss rifle needs is heat generation...

I hope they don't go overboard on the whole custom weapon thing. Light gauss rifles and MRMs were cool, but once they hit X-pulse lasers and mirror armor I started to get frustrated.

Yes love all sizes of Gauss rifles. Your mirror armor is only good till it gets all smuged up with a missle hit then it absorbs energery

If you are going to recommend new weapons, then I suggest you provide the mechanical and ballistic attributes and all relevant canon to support it....JMO.

According to battletech gauss rifles CAN one shot some Light mechs cause they mangle them up so bad they can't move or function properly.

HAG 40 also acts like LRM's for damage.

Yes but in BT the light is gonna fall flat on it's face if 50% or more pellets hit.
