The Reason : 11 seconds in.

The Facepalm : 24 seconds in.

I can feel the frustration across the internets.

IGN journalists... you can never make them actually listen. :)

Like when they asked people from CD-Project, how to start auto heal in Witcher 2. :)

Yeah, you would think that nearly any journalist would have cracked a book for two seconds to not look like a complete newb in less than a quarter of a minute.

Game journalists aren't really journalists.

Sure they can ask some questions but so can I and I don't call myself a journalist.

It's IGN, what do you expect? I'm just happy that they don't compare it to Mechassualt. The word "gamingjournalist" is a joke anyway. There isn't much journalism involved in what most of these people do.

It goes to show you that not only did that guy know NOTHING about MechWarrior, but he also couldn't take 2mins to review a line of text on a piece of paper or message before starting the video. The president of PGI, overseeing MWO, is talking to absolute idiots in his videos. Not just this one, but in pretty much any video I've seen you can tell that the person on the other side is clueless about the MechWarrior universe. I'm sure that's a result of it being a dead genre for so long... but still, I'd expect SOMEONE to have played at least 1 game in the series at some point in the video game industry.

Wait until Angry Joe or someone at BlisteredThumbs gets in on this. THEN you'll see some people that know what they're talking about looking at the game. The issue atm is that the beta is hard to get into and there's an NDA, which prevents openingly talking about the game or posting videos. So they either can't get in or have gotten in and can't share it with you. Come August though we will be SURE they got in and they will also be able to talk about it.

One editor posted to mention the Founder deal and that he got Legendary, so I am sure I'll at least see him talk about the game later if no one else.

People at this site fyi actually know video gaming and don't lie if something is bad. If Russ or any of you devs are reading this, forget the "professionals", and talk to someone at BlisteredThumbs or check out this guy:
http://angryjoeshow.com/
These are much more trustworthy people and usually KNOW the genres they are talking about. People like myself actually follow these sites.(I do not follow nor care one bit bout sites like IGN) There is also Giantbomb. So if you are looking for interview targets or beta targets, hit these sites. Forget about the crap Gamespot and IGN, hit these sites instead.

I also follow a guy named Lordkat(http://live.lordkat.com/) Once you drop the NDA you could bet your life on this guy doing live videos of your game. He has MANY followers and they would jump all over this.

LOL I noticed that as well some time ago. They have job to do and, if that news guy was BT fan, Russ would have to end the interview prematurely. Too many hot questions would have been asked.

News: The heavies are the biggest fighters on the battlefield. balabalabal.

Russ: Well shshsshs :) Actually they're the second biggest.........

It's not about the journalist, guys, it's about allowing those who don't know, or don't understand BattleTech, maybe haven't played any of the predecessors to this game, to understand what's going on. These videos are not for you, except for the cool factor, they're for new folks. There's not one thing wrong with that video.

I can vouch for the guys over at Blistered Thumbs too. Those guys really know what is going on in the world of gaming.

I remember how Angry Joe made some observations on that XCOM FPS game that made a developer who was hiding something from the XCOM fans that would have made them furious.
The questions Joe asked just pulled that secret into the open and that really slippery developer fell apart at the seams. I really enjoyed that.
