Funny thing about defending against the clans... throwing 12-mans at the problem doesn't work because there are so many pugs in the queue that it doesn't matter every 12-man wins 90% of their matches, since there are 2 pug drops for every 12-man and those pug drops are mostly losses.
Also, without the ability to choose which planet we fight on each of those Clan borders, defending is a losing proposition.
Just like with the invasion game-mode, the attacking faction on the map has
absolutely nothing to lose if there's not also a battle on their home turf.
So we do defend against the clans with the resources we don't need to secure our holdings close to home, which are considerable... but it doesn't make much difference because simply having a higher population doesn't win planets.
If that were the case, Smoke Jaguar would have ceased to exist on day 3.
Just like I've been saying for weeks now, it comes down to organization.
Oh, and as a side note... when Davion's not being aggressive, everyone gets funneled into one of 4 or 5 planets, which makes for massively long queue times all around.
