You should have more confidence in UI2.0 at least -- players have actually seen it on the test server, so there is DEFINITELY something to it.
Other stuff that we haven't actually seen yet, I can see you having problems believing in.
However, I do actually believe them that the back-end stuff for UI2.0 is/was a major hurdle for everything else. Why work on features for old UI when it'll just be replaced anyway?

The front end and back end modifications that are a part of UI2.0 are extensive enough that any engineering done on UI1.5 (our current UI) would have to be changed again for the new version. That is why we haven't seen any really new stuff in a while -- they didn't want the time and expense of doing stuff twice.
Once we have a stable UI2.0 in place (initial versions will be buggy, but fixes will be released weekly), other features that have been backlogged can finally get some major engineering time and that will result in a relatively rapid pace of development (compared to the pace we've had before). This includes the three stages of CW and DirectX 11 and achievements and lobbies and more modules.
But go ahead, insult away. I'm sure you could put together the perfect game quicker than PGI can ... right?
