Sure it would be possible, just change the ownership to reflect the correct time period. But they'll never do so. Because that would invalidate all Clan mechs. Now maybe, maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe they could run a six month 'Succesion Wars' event where Clan and IS players were strictly seperated. With the Clan players fighting amongst themselves (maybe with proper Zelbriggen and everything?) while the IS duke it out amongst themselves. Not during the First or Second Succession wars though, far too many atomics and other weapons of mass destruction used. Could be cool, but I'm not counting on it.

It all depends on the "succession war" you're referring to.

The 4th succession war....the one where Hanse Davion married Melissa Steiner and created the "Federated Commonwealth" out of both houses never happened.

Granted, that's also the one where we got all the technology from the Grey Death memory core....that happened, the rest didn't.
