Unseen fit core roles better than most mechs cos they came out first. Gaps like this will keep becoming more apparent as more mechs roll out.

I personally love the Scorpion, so yes I would love to see it.

As for the first poll, I picked the Wolverine, as it is a brawler mech and it gives the same hardpoint load-out that the SH does, but with a better punch as a stock version.

The -2H was definitely not designed with a min-max mindset. I would have dropped 2 heat sinks, added 2 jump jets and another ton of armor.

Still, I agree that "Its weapons systems are all over the board and do not compliment one another,' but I see it as a good thing in a medium. I consider mediums to be floaters, hopefully able to fill several roles. A varied weapons system on a mobile platform compliments the pilot. He gets to go where needed, and do what needs done.

Sure, it can be taken too far, but with something like the -2H, I feel like I have options. With the Griffin GRF 1-N, I know exactly what I'll be doing, and I know that I'm not much good at any other role.

Still, just a personal preference.

For sure, I'm not arguing any of those points at all, and agree that the versatility is excellent. It's exactly why I favor the Wolverines over any other mech in the game. The real drawback to the SHD-2H is the LRM/SRM/AC ammo just waiting to burst under an embarrassingly light compliment of tin foil armor  True, the base model Wolverine has that issue as well, but the difference in armor really REALLY helps. And IMO the liability of 15 rounds of SRM-6 ammo is far more risk-worthy than 50 rounds of SRM-2 or 24 rounds of LRM-5.

All my experience with these guys comes form tabletop, for what its worth, so I may be pleasantly surprised by the way they perform in a mechwarrior environment.

I'm a big fan of the GRF-1S, it was what I learned to pilot in back on the old BT Muses in the 90s. Compared to the 1N it adds a lot more versatility IMHO - switch PPC to LL and 2xML, drop LRM10 to LRM5 and add 4 heat sinks - very nice mech for 3025.

Wolverine, because I like the look. I'd change the weapons depending on the hypothetical hardpoints. I'm not a big fan of the AC/5 in tabletop, but the SRM 6 and Medium Laser are fine.

I have no problem with the Scorpion being a quad, but I'd still pick the Wolverine over it.

My first thought was Shadow Hawk!

But I decided in the end the Griffin. Yeah it only has 2 long range weapons but they are good weapons and with the armor and speed profile of the classic 55's. You can choose when and where to fight. Your only ammo is for the LRM once thats dry you still got your PPC and in any version of B-Tech I have played a PPC is not to be taken lightly.

Realy the game would be great with any of the classic 3 but I think the Griffin would be easier for most people to handle in the heat of battle since it only has to worry about 1 range bracket and has the capability to keep the bad guys in that bracket.

I wouldn't choose to have the Scorpion and not because it's a quad mech or it has no Jump Jets. I just don't like the Scorpion. The Griffin is more my play style.

SHD is the most 'classic', but I always liked my Griffin. :)

Yup.. Shadow Hawk would be my choice for the same reasons as others.. it looks cool.. it is nice and fast.. but also it is highly customisable..

As for the scorp... it might look ok on the battlefield but it's not something I would ever pilot other than for a bit of amusement.

I love distance skirmish warfare, so the Griffin was easy choice, but I love the Shadowhawk and PhoenixHawk as mechs in general. I would have put a bit more emphasis on a variant of the Shadowhawk, but the stock listed is lower to the Griffin to me.

Timely poll. I was playing a scenario in MegaMek today that had both the Griffin and the Wolverine.

I voted for the Shadowhawk. :)

I don't necessarily want a quad over the these mechs, but I'd like to see one in game for varieties sake.

ignoring the varients, the Griffin as a base mech is really the best option, Wolverine is second and the shadowhawk is a terrible third. Add the 3025 varients and you get the Wolverine-6m, a brawler/skirmisher, The griffon gets the -1S, a decent skirmisher. and the shadowhulk gets the davion varient that basicly strips off everything to put on more crapy bottom bucket weapons. The Shadowhulk looks cool, no doubt, but it's a **** poor battle mech. The griffon is better, The wolverine can be a true monster.

the Wolverine has been a very long favorite of mine, Ever sense playing a double blind tournament in it and dropping all the weapons on a marauder in a head to head battle...I locked up my masc and he had to kick me to death. (Mmmm...GeoCon, Evergreen College, Olympia WA)

I like both Shadow Hawk and Griffin but I'll have to go with Shadow Hawk, as Griffin seems useless in close quarters. But eventually I'd like to have both of them as more Mechs are added.

Wolverine just looks ridiculous with that bag in his left hand :-)

I hate quads. I'd rather have the option of a tank than a quad. Just my opinion based on aesthetics and not on game mechanics.
