Why should you be punished for having a falling out with your unit and leaving it?

I picked a good unit. I don't see anyway possible that I will have a "falling out" with them. Picking a unit should not be taken lightly.

Look...the point is not this.
The point is you have no control over what the unit does.
It could be in a contract for one faction and after you join it could join a faction you hate...you don't have a word in that.

I would like a message or something.
Something like "Your unit went under a permanent contract with X. Would you like to remain in the unit or leave?"

I hate not having the choice at all. Your unit can switch and screw you in a way by moving you to clans from IS or the other way. There are a lot of bad things that can happen and you have no control over that which sucks.

People joing Merc Units (i.e. those not under permanent contract with a house) should have time-based contracts with that unit. If the Unit does sth. the player does not consent with, he can take his leave. Just as in real life.
