Hello, all, forgive me if my understanding of the search function is lacking, but this is a general assortment of questions I've run into over the course of my hilariously depressing mercenary adventures in MekHQ...

Question 1)
Item acquisition... what dictates whether I can find a medium laser or not? Sometimes I can, sometimes I can't, regardless of the planet I'm on (Socio-industrial levels considered). It kind of pisses me off when I can get an ac20, but not a small laser. Is this working properly?

Question 2)
Special missions (Against the bot)... I can never properly drop my lance into them. Is there a special configuration needed for it?

Question 3)
Contract payments. They're either not enough to pay for a large laser, or negative. Is this a display error or what?

That just about ends it for now. Sorry in advance if these seem dumb.

I have not played that part of megamek, but i may know why you may not be able to find yourself a med laser. It may be because your tech team that was assigned the job failed his Availability Check to find that part (this test also determines what quality rating it is). This is from the battletech book Strategic Operations in the Maintenance, Salvage, Repair & Customization section. As for the rest I'm sorry i can't help.

It wasn't a failed roll-- the availability was listed as "impossible," but thanks for the suggestion.
I also suppose I should note that all of my questions were already answered on the battletech forums already.

Ask Koniving or Lordred for help with MegaMek. They play it all the time.

I've already pestered Koniving with megamek once before, besides, I have the answers already from BT forums.
