Ok so you fear the clans. Why you fear them makes little to no sense. You have better ballistics, short burn lasers, and most importantly quirks. The erppc and med pulse Thunderbolts are ten tons lighter and more than up to wrecking a Timber or Hellbringer when piolted decently. You have the Dragon with its AC5 that never stops. Now the game favors burst damage and your assaults like the Banshee or Awsome cam drop a quirked alpha and twist a shield side up to take the hits before their next alpha. Clans cant do that. Range is your gripe well try being a clan mech with erll and be in a long range fight with any of the Erppc range and velocity quirked is chasis. Look at the vindicator 40% velcoity? So clans at range have to hold a laser on target while eating ppfld return fire. Clans in a brawl are eatting wub or ppfld ballistic from mechs that have shield arms and sides to twist while the clanner has to hold on target with his ultra or laser weapons. Even the dreaded storm crow is just a generalist and will die to its quirked IS counterparts when they build to their quirks. So your issue is not clans are op your issue is that you dont use the amazing mechs you have in abundance.

Actully I have dropped against organized is groups and clan groups. I would rather fight clanners.

All i can say to that is this: I had 2 games out of 1200 where i achieved over 1000 damage in my IS lights and mediums. It took me 1 game in a mastered energy Stormcrow at a friends place, with a different mouse and keyboard setup to what i'm used to to get 1150 damage. And his ELO should be in the same region as mine.

Yup - I agree completely with this Post observation, the poor Clans are so fracked that their only hope of victory is when they get to fight in terrain that is specifically suitable for their otherwise crippled mechs. Their equipment is so bad that without all of those weapon advantages it would become simply unusable altogether.

It is only the surpreme quality of the Clan pilots that keeps them in the field at all at this point.

The fact is that the IS has become so OP, should the IS pilots ever learn how to drive their own mechs, the Clans are obviously doomed.

As things stand now, I, for one, have already written off the Clans.

Probably something should be done to restore the proper balance to such obviously mismatched forces.

Lucky for everyone here, I do have a working solution for this problem. The answer is obviously that we should force the IS to start using more Clan weapons in IS mechs so as to weaken those IS forces and bring balance back to this battlefield.

u are aware that clan mechs will get quirks too? PGI only introduced them for IS first to somehow rebalance the mechs

The only real scary part about IS mechs right now is the Firestarter demigods who are unhittable in CW matches thanks to hit registration going down the toilet. They just laugh off all the fire and then kill the generator on their own. Nothing hits them but turrets, lasers are like water on a duck to them.

The rest of the IS mechs? Not so worried about them.

As a clanner you are not doing us other clanners any favors. You speak the truth but you do in such a manner that it begs to be dismantled.

If someone wants to have a logical discussion about balance, fine. But I find it hard to listen to a blanket statement like "clans OP" when every vs IS match I have had has: AT LEAST 3-5 mechs that just let me core them out with no attempt at shielding, AT LEAST half the mechs (thats 24 of them now) have absolutely garbage builds, and a complete lack of decisive team movement and coordination. I see these things... every... game. So in those specific matches (all of the ones I have played) I cannot with good sense attribute the victory to my tech.

Now if you wanted to encourage an IS pilot you should do it in an informative and helpful fashion and not come off like a know it all. Example: "Hey, out of all of the IS mechs that I have come across XYZ mechs are the ones that I have the most issues with because of ABC reasons. I would try and utilize those designs and then use the knowledge on what makes them effective and apply it to the rest of your team drop deck and see how that works out".

I stand by that clans and IS are pretty equal (after the quirkining)...

with outliers being the Timber Wolf, Dire Wolf, and Storm Crow.

the Dire Wolf now has been matched with the KCG, not sure much can be done about the other two.

Organized drop isn't something that should be relevant in discussion about Mech qualities.

Thuth is that TW, SC and DW were strong because IS lacked similar well-performing Mechs. The problem we currently have is that they got them. TDB, Dragon, HBK, SDH, Griffons and their entire light and assault line-up. I am glad because most of these Mechs were in dire need of quirks, but what does it mean for the Clans? We have only 3 Mechs that can compete(and sometimes even can't, see the new TDR aka "PPCWUZWUZWUZandNOWyourDEAD") with them. The problem is that the rest of Clan Mechs is very poor and subpar, yet more nerfs towards Clans are called for...
Clans are in dire need of love, for the first time since release they actually have to show some affection towards Clans. Affection that is supposed to be delivered by anti-Clan studio and is strongly denied by people whose idea of Clan mechs got stuck at first Clan open test.
At the same time Clans still don't have what many IS Mechs can do without problems, like dual-gausses heavies... and we will never have some candy IS is running now, simply because of stupidly large engines and things we can't do anything with.

Right now we are weaker because we can't build our Mechs the way we have to be on par with IS. But yeah, for some people we are still the horrors we were half a year ago.

What an environment for balancing that is...

I play IS in CW currently and I agree with top poster, we currently have the tools we need to fight the Clanners, and we do as mentioned, we build quirk optimized build, shoot and twist. Huge difference compared to pre quirks.

Wonder what the metrics gathered from CW are going to say about Clams? You think it is going to show that the IS mechs are equal? Well, good luck, be prepared for more Clam nerfs.

I honestly think that the talent pool of clan players is higher than IS... in order to field 4 clan mechs you gotta have either a ton of c-bills or put $$$ into the game, those 2 groups tend to be the more experienced players i would imagine.

or at least, have a much smaller pool of "bad" players.

Spam drop-decks featuring three TDR-9S with ERPPC and either a Firestarter, Raven 3L, or a Blackjack.

I think that's a great match for whatever the Clans have to bring, and nobody can complain about Clan range advantages, speed advantages, or cooling advantages. You can even fit three ER PPCs on a TDR-9S and run sufficiently cool to fire 2+1 and out-DPS your opponent.

At 900 meters.

Let that sink in, folks.

Here's a question:

What is the House of Lords running?

That's your answer as to what is best in game.
