So, I couldn't find this info in the Resistance pack faq or in the Resistance Announcement thread (in truth I only skimmed through that last one because it's so long). I'm thinking about buying an a la carte Grasshopper. Does purchasing a la carte also give the player the Rewards and Faction content (only a single choice in case of the latter I'd assume)?

Haven't looked at it but i think the purchase page should have the info? Clan wave 1 had those info at the a la carte section.

Nope.
There are several additional goodies included in a mech pack, including titles, badges, and a specific amount of faction content. These are listed in the mech pack (ad bigger packs get more goodies) but do not go in the a la carte.
A la carte just gets you 3 mechs and the mechbays, as well as the monthly rewards depending on when you buy it.
You will be able to buy the faction patterns/colours later for MC.

You can switch from A la Carte to 'package purchase' at any time (so long as the window is open; there's a time after release where it 'stops'). A change from Grasshopper A La Carte (35 dollars) to Grasshopper package is 25 dollars more (granting you the Enforcers and Panthers as well as package bonuses for the same price as going to 2 A La Carte mechs [which would take the 5 dollars credit from your first 35 A La Carte and put it towards the second 30, making it 25).

Hmmmm, thanks Redshift2k5. So now I'll have to ponder if I'm actually going for the a la carte or maybe go for the more expensive option of going for a Fury pack (probably starting at Fire and upgrading along the way). Which brings me to my payment option question. Does anybody know if you can use multiple pre-paid cards to pay for a single transaction for MWO?
Edit: And that's another good option Koniving, making sure that I'll get the mech I want even if money proves too tight in the months to come.

Karmacoin specifically has a function to allow you to combine gift cards into a larger balance http://karmakoin.com...s/combine_cards
As for prepaid credit cards, credit cards only appear to be able to enter a single set of details (name/number/expiry) so if you had multiple prepaid mastercards you might have to make multiple transactions (you can buy a smaller pack and upgrade later) or try to use that card's own funds management systems on their own website to add more money to one card (by paying with the other one)

Is there a txt only list of all mechs that come with each pack? Ive tried to find it online with no luck. Maybe its on the main store page and my phone wont show it? I can see info like "4 Prime, 8 Standard"" but nothing more detailed on the Standard mechs included.
And a list of what packs are currently available for purchase? It sounds like some (Phoenix? ) are no longer offered.

Text only, no. But the variants for each mech pack is listed on the order page. Scroll down to the bolded text that says MECH SPECS (below faction content and above a la carte) and it lists all the variants; clicking on a variant gives you all of it's stock equipment and hardpoints.
Pheonix ended over a year ago. The front page's carousel shows packs that are currently available, and each order page has links on the absolute top linking to the other currently active packages.
